Humor[edit]

Hehe, this is funny. I always wondered if it was possible to play a truly retarded character. -- Mythos 17:13, 1 June 2009 (MDT)

Implication of Illiteracy[edit]

... implies inability to read or write. I think the part about the inability to understand pictures is a little much. I won't delete it outright, but I would suggest you consider it. -- Jota 19:06, 1 June 2009 (MDT)

Please don't delete this. How often does one get the chance to devolve a character anyway? -- Mythos 20:54, 1 June 2009 (MDT)
I didn't mean the whole thing, I meant that little segment about not understanding pictures. Sorry for the confusion. -- Jota 22:23, 1 June 2009 (MDT)
This was an April Fool's submission... We may want to add an April Fool's disclaimer of some sort, but leave it as it is (unless you have something to make it funnier :)). --Aarnott 17:25, 2 June 2009 (MDT)
I get the April Fool's component, I just think the barbarian should still be able to understand pictures. I understand that doesn't entirely mesh with the whole immunity to symbols thing, but stick figures and whatnot I think the barbarian should still be able to get. -- Jota 18:04, 2 June 2009 (MDT)
I've thought about it, and I think it should stay. The whole joke is making fun of the fact that "illiteracy" is a class feature. Not understanding pictures or spoken language are really the logical next steps to improving the illiteracy class feature. Sure, this article is probably unplayable. It isn't supposed to be playable. It is just here for a giggle. --Aarnott 08:12, 9 June 2009 (MDT)
Still, you could use it, if you left out the part about not being able to understand pictures... I would call this class feature Dare To Be Stupid, if one of my players selected it. -- Mythos 12:43, 12 June 2009 (MDT)
You could use this as-is. Just don't have your Barbarian be the one trying to figure out the secrets of the Dragon's Portrait or whatever.
Also, keep him away from any novice wizards in the morning. --24.93.235.144 19:19, 10 December 2012 (MST)
