Rating[edit]

Power - 4/5 Interesting mechanic, perhaps a bit cheesy. There soma abilities who would maybe need balancing. However I must admit my failure of not being able to pinpoint the flaw. --Lord Dhazriel 13:22, 11 February 2009 (MST)

Wording - 4.5/5 Almost perfect. There some confusion in the wording of the Head on a Platter.--Lord Dhazriel 13:22, 11 February 2009 (MST)

Yeah deserve a 5.--Lord Dhazriel 12:47, 14 February 2009 (MST)

Formatting - 4.5/5 The only thing missing is the NPC.--Lord Dhazriel 13:22, 11 February 2009 (MST)

Fixed I see. --Lord Dhazriel 12:47, 14 February 2009 (MST)

Flavor - 5/5 Very interesting class. --Lord Dhazriel 13:22, 11 February 2009 (MST)

Edits[edit]

I've edited the wording for Head on a Platter so that it will hopefully be more clear. I'm still working on the sample encounter but that should be up pretty soon. Also, help on establishing the links would be greatly appreciated as I'm still new to this and have not yet familiarized myself with creating them. Thanks. ThunderGod Cid 08:26, 14 February 2009 (MST)

Cool, now the sample encounter has been put in. It may be kind of hard to read but it looks OK to me and I copied the format straight out of the books. Getting close to complete now. -ThunderGod Cid 10:59, 14 February 2009 (MST)

I've added some inter-wiki links and made a few other minor, grammatical edits. I would suggest using the the NPC creation template here so that the encounter isn't simply a mass of text. -- Jota 17:38, 14 February 2009 (MST)
Let's find this thing a picture and get it a featured article nomination. -- Jota 18:46, 14 February 2009 (MST)
I suggest this one:
Giant_by_Wildforge.jpg
Or this one:
FatMan.jpg
Either of which I could scale down. -- Jota 18:58, 14 February 2009 (MST)
I like this one, too:

Rating[edit]

Power - 4.5/5 I give this class a 4.5 out of 5 because it has a good amount of pretty nice abilities, but there isn't anything particularly game-breaking. --FREAKshow 15:26, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because the wording is simple but effective, the grammar is pretty good, and I found no spelling issues. --FREAKshow 15:26, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Formatting - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because while the class is actually formatted correctly, the NPC uses the older layout and it should be updated. --FREAKshow 15:26, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it's just that awesome. Okay, it's pretty awesome, I've always wanted to play a living ghoul-type character, and now I can without actually getting turned into a ghoul or other undead --FREAKshow 15:26, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Updated NPC[edit]

It's still not perfect, but I used the NPC preload to put on the sample encounter. It looks a little bit better now. -ThunderGod Cid 20:27, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Very nice! </end Borat> -- Jota 20:57, 16 February 2009 (MST)

Issue with the Links[edit]

A lot of the links for the class features (actually about all of them I think, except for Inescapable Cravings) don't connect with where they're supposed to go. As far as I can tell, they're formatted correctly, although I will readily concede that I'm not the best judge. If someone who has experience at making those links could take a look at it and see if they coud fix it up, it would be greatly appreciated. -ThunderGod Cid 13:20, 18 February 2009 (MST)

Rating[edit]

Power - 4.75/5 4.75 out of 5 because I think the class is very balanced expect for the max hit points. --Tacomaster 18:46, 20 April 2009 (MDT)

Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because it looks like the creator took his time and if you said this was in a book I wouldn't doubt it. --Tacomaster 18:46, 20 April 2009 (MDT)

Formatting 4.75/5 I give this class a 4.75 out of 5 because I think it really matches DnD standards. --Tacomaster 18:46, 20 April 2009 (MDT)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because I think it is a very in depth class. --Tacomaster 18:46, 20 April 2009 (MDT)

Homage[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that I love this PrC. It's probably one of the better ones I've seen on here. It's absolutely full of flavor and the abilities all make sense for the concept. I hope you don't mind, but I'm definitely adding this to my homebrew setup. 70.145.36.65 04:26, 5 October 2009 (MDT)

I'm all for that. What's the point of making homebrew if no one's going to try it? Good luck using it. - TG Cid 12:40, 5 October 2009 (MDT)

Wording - <<<5>>>/5 I give this class a <<<5>> out of 5 because <<<insert why you gave the rating and how to improve it>>> --173.245.50.115 20:04, 15 May 2012 (MDT)

Formatting - <<<5>>>/5 I give this class a <<<5>>> out of 5 because <<<Greatly worded, little loop holes and balanced enough>>> --173.245.50.115 20:04, 15 May 2012 (MDT)

Things to change about this class, and things that are good. --Denathus (talk) 16:29, 25 January 2013 (MST)[edit]

Here are the good things about this prestige class

Prerequisites

Need to eat is vital. I like that undead such as ghouls, and aberrations such as mind flayers fall into this category. it would be awesome to see a mind-flayer, so starved of brains, that they can never be satiated again.

Class features

d12 hit die, maxed out hit die, full base, strong fort, natural armor, bonus feats that make you fat, permanent hunger, wisdom damage for not eating (illustrating madness), bite damage, improved grab, toughness, improved toughness, skill points per level.

Here are the bad things

Prerequisites

Any stat as a prerequisite is a bad idea. it is always a poor illustration for the ability that the designer goes for. I recommend a feat that does the job of 15 con, or requires 15 con as a prerequisite. Cast iron stomach should not have been a class feature, but a prerequisite. I otherwise like this as a level 5 prestige class.

Class features

This class should not have a strong will save. by its very nature it is a weak willed character, giving wisdom penalties for not eating, thereby weakening the save. taking charisma penalties to the score is a very dangerous thing to do. honestly, because you're fat, and ugly, I don't think you are more susceptible to spells that do charisma damage, which cause you to doubt yourself, and loose your sense of identity. The hideousness could be illustrated using a penalty to all charisma related checks, except of course intimidate. which I think they would be pretty good at, size bonuses and all that.

SPEAKING OF SIZE BONUSES.

for flavor's sake, the class should also come with a slam attack. this attack is using the belly to bash someone. this will allow them to use their belly at increased range. because they are huge, they have 15' reach. how did the arms get longer if they didn't get taller? I also disagree with the use of larger size category weapons. by virtue of fat fingers, nobody has ever been able to wield a larger weapon. however, I can definitely see the benefits of constant weight training. another thing to consider.... how are they so good at tumble? they have no penalties to tumble from anything. there should be armor check penalties due to their massive size, increasing with their size category, that doesn't make them any taller, it hurts my puny mortal brain.
