"I just can't see how firing a sling at a great wyrm is supposed to have a one in twenty chance of injuring it."

These two statements seem to be in conflict to me. The great wyrm still has soft spots, like eyes, doesn't it?

Sure you might not be able to hit them reliably, but heh everyone gets lucky sometimes. This is that lucky shot.
