Stargazer[edit]

She can see it all..

Physical Description[edit]

Stargazers are a humanoid race that largely appears human. However, their hair is often fantastical pastel colors that one would only be able to attain via dyes. Their eyes are also said to always be midnight blue like the night sky. This color varies, sometimes turning magenta or mixes of colors like cosmic latte. Stars dot all over within, like they have nebulas and the cosmos within the windows to their soul. Generally they are known to be of petit build and primarily females, with pale skin and dainty bodies.

History[edit]

Stargazers are a race of people claiming descent from the stars. They say this is why they have connection to celestial bodies that allows for communication. According to their origin story, in the cosmos is only chaos, and from that chaos is where stars form. Not all stars form fully successful, and they end up with an imperfect form like that of an elemental. These beings embody a facet of the stars, but are unable to become them in entirety. Not able to survive in the vacuous space, they fall to the world of material and ephemeral life. This is calculated to be roughly when the Age of Humans was in full swing. Seeing the rise of these seemingly wise and diverse creatures, the celestial elementals of cosmic stuff sought to live in a different eternity through flesh.

They laid with humans, usually vanishing the morning after, as they imbued their essences into impregnation. The children born are the stargazers. Due to their beauty, they are considered highly prized children. Their eyes, mirroring the endless cosmos, are said to be able to see into the future and read the astrological signs that confuzzle even seasoned researchers.

Society[edit]

Stargazers have passed on their blood by mating with humans for the most part. However, due to their proximity with the human race, they have never found need to start their own societies or land holdings. Thus, they live as a part of human civilization. Within their circles are usually influential figures, due to how recognizable and special they are. Stargazers often are employed as seers and viziers, as they have an uncanny wisdom that is often claimed from beyond, in the stars. Once a century, there is a cosmic event where stardust rains down onto the land, creating a veil effect of shimmering cosmic stuff. Stargazers have been seen speaking to what look to be ethereal creatures that manifest in this event, calling them their ancestors.
