Stub Logo.png This page is incomplete and/or lacking flavor. Reason: Needs two more adventurers, and a better explanation as to how a creature that is "born from the fear sentient beings have of the unknown" can integrate into a typical adventuring party.

Stalkers are manifestations of fear. They are created from the fear of a single beings, if their host grows too paranoid their Stalker becomes real. The moment that a Stalker becomes fully developed they gain their independence by giving their last host one last haunt before taking their life.

The more terrified a host is, the more influence their Stalker has. A small fear of the dark will not give a Stalker enough power to even be self aware, but a string of nightmares may power one enough to allow him or her to create whispers in the host ear or even move objects in the direct vicinity. When a Stalker takes the life of their host they do so by tempting the victim to turn their back where the Stalker is waiting with ambition the strike.

Play a Stalker if you want...

  • To utilize stealth
  • To strike fear into the hearts of those you cross
  • To play games with the minds of others
  • If you want to play a race that favors the Rogue, and Assassin classes

[edit] Physical Qualities

Stalkers are very tall, very skinny humanoids with bone white skin, and no faces. Their long limbs make them intimidatingly tall. Their voice can range from a series of whispers repeating each other or gigantic booming voices that ring for great lengths. Hair is usually black and short, but long haired Stalkers are not scarce. Stalkers blend with nighttime and are almost impossible to spot when atop a tree or rooftop.

[edit] Playing a Stalker

You are a creature who loves seeing fear in the faces of others. You cling to nighttime and stalk people in their houses, on lonely roads, and sometimes in broad daylight. Unless you have other intentions you never reveal yourself to your target. When you have a certain creature marked for death you haunt them as much as they can stand before you reveal yourself usually by tempting your prey to turn their back to find you waiting to take their life. Being stared at in the face evokes a need to kill or run, since you favor never being seen by others.

Stalkers are very much feared and most only think of them as old legends that were created for ghost stories. No one alive has ever seen a stalker and known it to be one. They are usually dismissed as hallucinations by those who see them.

Stalkers are born from the fear sentient beings have of the unknown. A creature who is scared of the dark or of the unseen may grow so paranoid that his fear manifests itself in the form of a Stalker. Most creatures have Stalkers constantly following them, however a Stalker only gains full independence if the fear of a creature is strong enough. You gained your freedom by scaring your host enough for you to grant you power. The last test of a Stalker is that they must kill their host once their fear has grown strong enough.

Being a Stalker you can see the stalkers that follow others around, if the Stalker that clings to someone is strong enough, you may be able to communicate with or even physically touch them.

Stalker Characteristics: Shy, creepy, not very open, rational, trustworthy

Stalker Names: Stalkers often name themselves after the greatest fear of their original host. Dusk, Banishment, and Exile are a few names of Stalkers.

[edit] Stalker Adventurers
