The Spellstrider[edit]

Ranger Subclass

Spellstriders are rangers that tap into the arcane wells that rest in the natural weave of magic to enhance their abilities. Many mistake them for other spellswords, but they're not too far off that assumption.

Magic Studies

At the 3rd level, you learn one spell of 1st-level of your choice, from any spell list. This is considered a Ranger spell for you, and doesn't count against the maximum number of spells you know. You learn one additional spell at 5th level (2nd-level spell or lower), 9th level (3rd-level spell or lower), 13th level (4th-level spell or lower) and 17th level (5th-level spell or lower).

In addition, you learn two cantrips from any spell list. They are Ranger spells for you. You learn a third cantrip at 11th level.

Arcane Recovery

At the 3rd level, you learned to regain some of your magical energy through your natural magic. Once per day when you finish a short rest, you can choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than one-third your ranger level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 4th level or higher.

For example, if you’re a 5th-level ranger, you can recover up to two levels worth of spell slots. You can recover either a 2nd-level spell slot or two 1st-level spell slots.

Arcane Wells

Starting at 7th level, you gain an additional 1st level spell slot. At 11th level, you gain an additional 2nd level spell slot. At 15th level, you gain an additional 3rd level spell slot. These spell slots are recovered when you complete a long rest.

Eldritch Strike

At 11th level, you learn how to make your weapon strikes undercut a creature’s resistance to your spells. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack, that creature has disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes against a spell you cast before the end of your next turn.

Strider's Focus

At the 15th Level, your focus from magical studies has led to mental fortitude. You are now proficient in Wisdom saving throws, and can add your Wisdom modifier to concentration checks to maintain concentration on spells you cast.
