This extra damage increases to 2d6 at 6th level and increases by 1d6 every 4 levels thereafter (2d6 at 6th, 3d6 at 9th, etc.) and the Snowblade only applies the extra damage for ranged weapons if the target is within 30 feet.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Snowblade[edit]

Religion: Like Frost knights, Snowblades are generally apathetic as far as religion is concerned; in their harsh existence, faith is needed in no one but themselves. Those that do worship a deity favors those of cold or winter, and often share the same deity as the frost giants in the appropriate campaign setting. Even these snowblades are rarely devout fanatics; besides an occaisonal oath or prayer to acknowledge their god's existence they will not actively partake in religious service. Thus, the snowblades alignment rarely reflects that of his deity. Even when not religious, a snowblade is usually superstitious, believing in the omnipotence of the cold and its ability to communicate with them.

Other Classes: Snowblades are loners to their ice cold core, but they are not so foolish to believe that there are no advantages to traveling in a group. Snowblades are also most unsympathetic, reacting with indifference towards the plights of others, for in the tundra the winter consumes those who cannot defend themselves.

Combat: A snowblade is an ideal forward combatant. While not as outwardly strong or hardy as a fighter or barbarian, he possesses a range of abilities capable of quickly debilitating numerous opponents. Because the winter cold affects most differently from him, the snowblade is often quick to bring his cold-based abilities to bear by drastically lowering the temperature around him.

Snowblades in the World[edit]

He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe. And... he's wonderful

<-Where characters of this class fit in a d20 world->

NPC Reactions: Snowblades are often clouded by a reputation of myths that claim they are disguised ice demons, giving them a bad reputation among less well-informed residents. Most NPC's will react to a snowblade's presence with a mixture of fear and awe as well as an involuntary shiver. Those who do not know of snowblades may actually mistake one for an undead. Their pale skin, incredibly slowed heartbeat (around eight times per minute), and bitterly cold body temperature all serve as false indicators of undead nature

Characters with ranks in Knowledge(Geography or Local) can research Snowblades to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Knowledge (Geography or Local)
DC Result
11 Snowblades are of branch of Frost Knight's.
16 Snowblades wield the terrible powers of winter due to there rage.
21 Snowblades manifest their rage as the bone-chilling cold that gives their abilities form.
26 The bodies of powerful Snowblades are coated in a layer of ice that preserves their flesh, preventing them from aging or even dying of other natural causes.
