Note: The abilities of this prestige class make several references to polearms. For the mechanical purpose of these abilities, a “polearm” is any weapon (typically, but not always, one with reach) with the main fighting part, if any, is placed on the end of a long shaft, typically of wood. This includes the glaive, guisarme, halberd, lance, longspear, quarterstaff, ranseur, shortspear, spear, and trident from the Player’s Handbook. Other weapons that fit the above description may be added to this list at the DM’s discretion.
