Shifters are highly skilled with Deception.

Physical Description[edit]

Shifters are dark-skinned individuals, similar to Changelings though are more capable fighters.

Shifters are an evolved human society that live on a small island with a portal which accesses their home realm which is only visible to other Shifters, due to their innate abilities.

Shifters live in a mostly lawless and chaotic environment, often forming their own settlements and relations with others based out of necessity and purpose rather than on merit and promise.

Shifter's Names[edit]

Male: Xato'ex, Xagxon, Xeryx Start with 'X' and have a second 'X' within.

Female: Raessanne, Laewisse, Mendysse Always has a 'ss' within.

Shifter Traits[edit]

Are highly skilled deceivers.
Ability Score Increase. Gain no Ability Score Bonuses (Due to Shifting)
Age. Shifters reach maturity at 20 and they live only about 40 to 50 years old.
Alignment. Due to their upbringing, most Shifters are very chaotic in nature as their culture doesn't understand how society could be ruled by law.
Size. Shifters vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30ft, but changes depending on current Shifted Race.
Skill Proficiency. Proficiency for Deception is doubled. (Half Prof. > Full Prof. > Double Proficiency)
Shifting. Shifters are able to permanently change their physical appearance, though this ability can only be used a maximum amount equal to their Charisma Bonus -- Short or Long rests do not restore this abilities uses as the strain of physically changing is strenuous. In addition, Shifters benefit from Racial Ability Score Increases from the Humanoid, non-beast Race they have Shifted to. This act requires a Short rest to perform safely, if not taken all Saving Throws are at a Disadvantage. This effect can be dispelled immediately if Dispel Magic is cast at 6th level or higher, otherwise requiring a Charisma Saving Throw -- If dispelled, the Shifter takes 3d8 Force Damage.
Shifting Proficiency. Shifters regain their Shift ability uses each time an Ability Score increase is available.
Language Difficulties. Shifters have a difficult time learning new languages and as such, Languages which are not Shifter or Common are always Half Proficient, being able to read without issue but Speech is difficult. Intimidation, Persuasion and Deception checks are at Disadvantage when using a half-proficient language.
Languages. Shifter and Common.
