[edit] Severans
[edit] Personality
Severans are gruff and militaristic. Many who are not currently involed in the defence of the homeland, the Leonid Principate, become mercinaries and fight if foreign wars... they see it as not only making a name for themselves but for Leona.
[edit] Physical Description
Severans look almost exactly like any other Human, with the exception of bein more muscular in build, and having a generally darker complexion.
[edit] Relations
Any race lacking a healthy appreciation of battle and the tactics involved, the folklore of a warrior race or other things involving conflict will find Severas to be quite hard to relate too... the feeling is mutual though, as Severans tend to have little use for "cultural" achievements. Severans can be quite personable though and few are really "bad" people, just very single minded.
[edit] Alignment
Severans, as said before, have little use for things that are considered unnecessary, and most follow Lawful behavior patterns. Past being lawful, Severans are almost never polarized between Good and Evil, as their culture revolves around war, which smears the good/evil axis quite heavily.
[edit] Lands
The Severans are one of the two most prominent races of Trebonia, and Severus Trebonas, the father of Trebonia, is who they take their name from (as he was one of them). Trebonia is a rather large empire covering several kinds of terrain and many miles. It is divided into 13 tribe/states. It neighbors Whassallah and Hunan'xin. It is known for a great deal of diversity and for its powerful military force, along with the Ansaa- its military workhorses. It's first leader Severus Trebonias is seen as god-like figure by those who still foloow the old, pagan ways, even the monotheists hold him as a sort of deliverer.
[edit] Religion
About half of the population follows a monotheistic philosophy, believing in a single overdeity. Some monotheists still respect the old gods as underlings, servants to the one true god. Those that do not follow only one god follow a pantheon of the deities that follow more aggressive teachings.
[edit] Language
Severans speek good old common, but pick up on other languages without much trouble, as their race tends to spread quickly and assimilate other cultures.
[edit] Names
The Severans aquire a family name at birth and usually are also given the name of their father or mother based upon their gender. By the time they reach adulthood, Severans usually have been given at least one nickname, what the Severans call "agnomena", they also use names that describe something they do, or how they make their living, even where they are from.
