Schicksals (DnD Campaign Setting)/Classes
From D&D Wiki
 PC Classes
Below are the standard classes of Schicksals and the alternate class features that should be used with them.
Barbarians are great warriors of nature embodying its fury and its power, not only in the way they live and fight, but often in their lineage as well, as such most barbarians have some non-humanoid blood somewhere in their bloodline. To represent this most barbarians in Schicksals have the Fay Heritage feats found in Complete Mage. this alteritave class feature replaces "fast movement" at first level and DR at higher levels

Bards where, for a long time, the only accepted mages ummong in the cultures of the world, and became well respected for both their entertainment abilities and medical potential during magic's dark days. During those times Bards passed off their magic as supernatural abilities and their spells became closely guarded secrets. Due to this secrecy the Academy of Bardic Knowledge (ABK) and the Bardic language where formed. During the time when these protections where neccicary potential bards where taken to the academy and not aloud to travel until they had proven themselves and takken a Truenamed vow admisistered by the House of the Elect (refered to as “the House” around non-bards) to not teach the Bardic language or the ability to cast bardic spells (which all utilize this language) to anyone who was not an initiate of the ABK. The academy is headed by the House of the Elect, a board of high level bards who usualy has become Lore Masters with some knowledge of Truenameing. as far as the general public is concerned there is no House of Elect and the academy is headed by a single high level bard Now adays the academy simply serves as a library of bardic knowledge, and though no longer required, most up and coming bards attend the academy at least temporaly. The oath of secracy has been discontiued with the rebirth of magic, though most of the mundane world refuses to believe that Bardic magic is arcane and not supernatural. Teaching the Bardic language to a non bard is still a taboo, and doing so still effects a bards healing capabilities.
Hypnotism: replaces Inspire competence make a perform check, all creatures who can hear you (friend and foe) must make a will save DC 1/3 your check result or fall asleep (creatures who don't sleep or immune to sleep effects are unaffected by this Bardic Music ability). This ability casts one use of Bardic Music.
any changes to this class have to do with the spells available to them.
 Dragonfire Adept
Dragonfire Adepts in Schicksals need not have fire as their defalt breath weapon damage type, infact they need not have a damaging breath weapon at all. In Schicksals Dragonfire Adepts chose a type of true dragon (mostly chromatic and metallic, though gem and planar dragons can be chosen at DM descretion) and gains one breath weapon type possesed by said dragon type. (a non-damaging breath weapon can gain a damage type through the use of breath effects that change the type of a damaging breath weapon: see the magic page for new breath effects and invocations and their effect on non-damaging breath weapon).
Adepts with cold, acid, lighting sonic and non-damaging breath weapons are called dragonfhail, dragon_____, dragonspark, dragontone and dragonforce adepts respectively
Druids are powerfull, but rare, they shun most of the modern world and have become more secluded as tech advances.
Druids gain one domain available to a cleric of Obad-Hai and at all times can have a number of animal companions equal to twice their class level.
A fighter can give up any number of simple weapon proficiencies for an equal number of basic or militaristic firearm proficiencies, and any number of martial weapon proficiencies for an equal number of advanced firearm proficiencies.
 Living Weapon
They say the most deadly army is the one that doesn't fear death... What about one that not only doesn't not fear it, but has no idea what it is, and infact knows nothing of the world but how to kill you, and you personally, from your weaknesses to what you think are your defenses, to how to dodge your strongest attacks. This is the strength of the living weapon.
|1||0||+2||+2||+2||elemental fist||bonus feat|
Elemental Fist (Su):once per day per level as a free action a monk can cause all their unarmed strikes (for one round) to deal +1d6 damage of an energy type: cold, fire, acid, electric or sonic, (chosen when activated) the type need not be the same every time. Performing this feat requires a somatic component (hand seal) to be performed at the beginning of the round (or as part of an attack or move action), this ability can be effected by the still spell feat thus allowing it to be used while grappling. At 5th level a monk's unarmed strikes are treated as having the appropriate burst magic weapon ability. (i.e. fire=flaming burst, electricity=shocking burst, ext.) At 10th level and every 5 levels thereafter the base amount of damage dealt by this ability goes up by 1d6 (10=2d6, 15=3d6 ext.)
Rangers can substitute simple weapon proficiencies for basic fire arm proficiencies and martial for militaristic firearms.
Rouges can substitute simple weapon proficencies for basic fire arm proficiencies.
The samurai in Schicksals use the rules from 2.0 Oriental Adventures as a base, for now DM desgretion as to how to incroperate what does not fit 3.5 right away, a 3.5 version will be coming
If 2.0 OA is not available CA Samurai is acceptable
As far as class abilities Soulknives are unchanged, but instead of being of militaristic origins they arise from the tempals of monks
Sorcerers make up about 42% of the the arcanists in Schicksals and most proudly trace their arcane blood back to a dragon.
|1||0||0||0||2||Draconic or fiendish Heritage||summon familiar|
Swordsages are the only martial adept class available in Schicksals, thus at first level chose any 6 of the 9 disciplines from witch you will draw your maneuvers.
A DM may chose to replace this class with either Crusader or Warblade, but having more than one would not be recomended.
Wilders are gem dragon enthusiasts and their students, being the only full psionic beings of any note they tend to be proud, but their craft is not the most popular in most cultures of Schicksals and they tend to be loners
 Wu Jen
Wu Jen are the only "book magic" arcanists
