The Schiavona is an elegant, long sword with a beautifully designed complex hilt and fairly broad blade. About as long as a longsword, the Schiavona is a versatile weapon able to both cut and thrust with little trouble.
The guard of the Schiavona can act like a gauntlet when chosen to do so and grants +1 AC as a shield bonus.
Because of the way the hilts are designed, using a Schiavona too small for a character (A medium size using a small, for example) suffers a -4 to attack rolls.
