[edit] Sarcosuchus
Possibly the largest Crocodilian to have ever lived, the Sarcosuchus weighs up to 8 metric tons, and its skull alone is the size of an average human being. It is a natural, non-magical beast, so it lacks certain powers that other, magically enhanced crocodilians have that adventurers may encounter. It makes up for this with overwhelming size and strength.
[edit] Female Sarcosuchus Tactics
Far weaker and smaller than their male brethren, female Sarcosuchuses are still a threat to most animals. At only half the size of a male, the female is less of a dire threat, but is better at hiding in the water, due to her smaller size. The females are more cautious and use far fewer direct attacks than the males, preferring to attack the weakest in a group rather than charging down the center.
[edit] Male Sarcosuchus Tactics
As a gigantic crocodile, a Sarchosuchus male fights in the manner of its smaller brethren, only on the scale of a 50 foot long creature. As such, it is able to take down all but the strongest of prey in the wild by employing ambushes at the riverside. Less intelligent than magically-enhanced creatures, this reptile uses basic ambush tactics and relies on sheer brute force. Surprisingly fast for its size, this beast can kill creatures the size of a horse in a single bite, and can easily take on many larger animals.
[edit] Sarcosuchus Lore
A character knows the following information with a successful nature skill check:
DC 15: A Sarcosuchus has teeth that are adapted for holding and crushing, so it can be expected that when when gets hold of a victim, that they will attempt to crush its bones and kill it.
DC 20: Living in swamps, this predator will eat anything it can kill. It is sometimes used as a servant of powerful lizardfolk tribes who know how to charm it.
