Qaletaqa villages lie along rivers and streams. They raise maize and beans and squash but still rely upon hunting and fishing and the gather wild nuts, fruits, seeds, and roots. They also do a lot of stone and metal work, and their huge earthen villages do utilize slaves captured in battle. Their villages are well fortified.

They prefer copper for their metalwork, and their pottery is some of the best in Onatah, and have some of the few 'permanent' trade routes.
