Plot Relations (Resmoroldo setting)

What one may call the "main baddie" of the Resmoroldo campaign setting, Lord Thrax is indeed quite the baddie. Several hundred years old, Lord Thrax once served in the Order of the Brand, a noble band of knights devoted to preserving the greater good. On a solo mission, Thrax, then known as Quistium, was to recover a dagger belonging to a now dead evil cleric, so the order could destroy it. Upon picking up the dagger, Quistium received a vision from its actual creator, the goddess Tiamat herself. Tiamat corrupted the mind of Quistium, and forced him to turn in all of his Paladin experience for that of the Blackguard. At this point, all of this was unwilling, and Quistium was still fighting back. Though, Tiamat forced him to become a cleric to further serve her. The newfound power of divine spellcasting flooded Quistium's form, and Tiamat released control. At this point, the Aasimar was madly in love with his new found power, and willingly chose to keep it, and continue serving the mistress of evil dragons.

After the events that caused great anarchy within Resmoroldo took place, Thrax saw this as an chance to seize power, and did so with an iron fist. He now controls the northern half of Resmoroldo, and continues his campaign against Lord Hastrel in the south. After he has control of Wrennron, Thrax plans to first attack Sollica, followed by Ravenmore, and finally Foronaiach.

It is rumored that Thrax still possesses the dagger that first took control of him, Thrax keeping it hidden deep within the confines of his palace.

[edit] Lord Hastrel

A Paladin, and the opposition of Lord Thrax. Don't let his lawful good alignment fool you, lawful good does by no means mean lawful nice. Lord Hastrel works for the greater good, and founded the Knights Vestri for that purpose exactly. One would think that a country ruled by a good ruler would be a paradise, right? Hell no. The way that Lord Hastrel runs Wrennron is in the same way that Oceania is ruled in Nineteen Eighty-Four. Hastrel is incredibly paranoid of international attack, and monitors all activity within the nation.

Hastrel became a paladin after witnessing several children in his orphanage steal from another. He horribly beat the thieves, and swore to devote himself to the greater good, joining a holy order as soon as he was of age. This holy order was a small once in service to Heironeous, and Hastrel defected shortly thereafter to found the Knights Vestri. He made it his personal duty to assimilate or eliminate all other orders of Paladins in Wrennron, as he was afraid that
