[edit] The Plane of Souls
The Plane of Souls is a dark, misty void, filled only with silence and the souls of the departed. All creatures within the Material Sphere and Planar Globe, even those who normally would never die, will eventually find themselves released from their tangible forms, whether through death, deific influence, or other occurences, and will find their way to the Plane of Souls; A process known as the Long Walk, a time of journey where the soul reflects upon itself.
Souls can take many forms; Humanoid apparitions, Wisps of Blue fire, or small glowing orbs. These are a reflection of the beings they belong to. The many of these inhabiting the Plane of Souls are constantly unmoving, in a state of deep slumber. This is known as the Great Sleep, a process awaiting all souls who enter the Plane, unless they are chosen for reincarnation in the Celestial, Abyssal, or Infernal planes, or until they are released back into the Material, Transitive, or Inner Planes.
[edit] Plane Traits
[edit] Physical Traits
- Gravity: Subjective. While rare that any creature visits the Plane of Souls consciously, one can move in any direction at will.
- Time: Timeless and Eternal, all in the same breath.
- Size: Infinite and Boundless.
- Morphic: The Plane has no real form, besides being a misty void, and cannot be changed.
[edit] Magic, Alignment, and Energy/Elemental Traits
- Alignment Trait: Strongly Neutral
- Magic Trait: Dead Magic. No mortal magic can function here, leaving only deities to contend with it.
[edit] Plane Links
The Plane of Souls connects with no other planes; It can only be entered through direct intervention of deific figure, usually through Hel's welcoming of deceased souls.
[edit] Plane Inhabitants
Besides the countless souls that reside in the plane, kept in eternal slumber, there exists on the deity, Hel, and her servants.
[edit] Movement and Combat
It works normally, except in regard to the subjective gravity, and lack of physical matter. This causes most attacks to be done at a -4 attack bonus, due to the unsettling environment.
[edit] Plane Encounters
Combat is unlikely to occur, as troublemakers are quickly cast out by Hel, as are those unwilling to participate in the Great Sleep.
