This build is meant for a subterranean campaign or some other campaign situated with a "background of stone", well.. That makes it better anyway.



Game Rule Components[edit]


None required but items that improve your hide skill or your dexterity are perfect!


Starting Ability Scores (Before Racial Adjustments): Using a 36 point build the starting stats are:

STR:14 DEX:18 CON:14 INT:12 WIS:10 CHA:10

Race (Templates): Gargoyle

Starting Racial Traits:

+4 Strength, +4 Dexterity, +8 Constitution, –4 Intelligence, –4 Charisma.

Attack Bonus
Saving Throws Feats Class
Fort Ref Will
1st → 9th Gargoyle HD/LA +4 +1 +4 +4 Weapon Finesse and Multiattack can help you hit. +4 Natural Armor, DR 10/Magic Get maximum hide skill, Freeze
10th Gargoyle 9, Rogue 1 - 4d8+1d6+5 HP +4 +1 +6 +1 None. Sneak Attack +1d6, Trapfinding

Other Components[edit]



You use your advantage at hiding in stony areas and then you can sneak up on the enemy. If you are spotted you can use your Freeze ability to lead the target off guard. You could also use your Freeze ability to make a trap for your target. When your target gets close enough for you to hit you strike it with all four attacks! Dealing sneak attack damage for each!

Munchkin-Size Me[edit]

Add some more items.. Or you could take some negative level adjustment templates, or you could take 0 LA templates.

Permanenced Reduce Person is always an option, although because you're a monstrous humanoid it would have to be modifed.

Side Notes[edit]

This isn't as good as a normal rogue, but it is different.

DM Counters[edit]

Move the party to a non-stoney area, or have anything that has a supernatural or extraordinary method of detecting life (i.e. True Seeing)
