[edit] MechWarrior

Welcome to The Battletek Corporation™©, proud inventers and distributors of many of todays modern small and large arms amongst which the The Battletek Corporation™© proudly introduces the Mech, a utility motor-function augmentation suit which has many practical uses amongst in industrial, commercial and even the military industry. You are watching this video because you are one of the select few who has been deemed to possess both the mental and physical capabilities to construct and even pilot a Mech utility suit. The general term for which we will now refer to Mech-grade engineers and pilots is 'MechWarrior' a term coined by the joint efforts of both our joint CEO and heads of staff, Mr Church and Mr Stores, during initial testing, which both men bravely volunteered and made the very first successful controlled test run. Who would be more appropriate to have the honor of the first test run than the joint heads of research and development and combined applied physics?

Enough about the history, now let us progress to the Mech unit itself. The Mech is a complex being that requires as much maintainance, love, devotion and care as any human being would. We wouldn't want the hydrolics leaking during heavy lifting now would we? For those contemplating the answer to the last question, the answer is: no, because the resultant strain on the Mech unit would lead to excessive strain along all components and lead to a cataclizmic system failure, with a 99.9 percentage change of the cockpit caving and the pilot being crushed under tonnes of Battletek Corp™© high-grade steel - the world's most competitive high-grade steel on the free market! Back to the Mech unit: Initially the Mech engineer or pilot is given a standard-size, stock-grade Mech unit, equipped with stock features such: one Battletek Corp™© Short-Range Ultraplex Missile Launcher, one long range Battletek Corp™© Bayonet Utility Lancing Laser (or BULL for short), one Battletek Corp™© D-I Flamer, two Battletek Corp™© Powered Brawler-grade Fists and one Battletek Corp™© ISSAD (Industrial Strength Sulfuric Acid Displacer).

Please note that the provided stock-grade options for your personal Mech units may be upgraded at any point with any of The Battletek Corporation's™© may Mech Unit Technical Upgrade Kits refered to now as MUTU Kits, please try and keep up with the acronymns. Also note that the stock-grade Mech unit is unable to be piloted at first as it is a very costly and timely process to calibrate the pilots exact mass, height, weight distribution and the most efficient custom interface configuration. It is a wise decision by the joint heads of The Battletek Corporation™© to dictate this unique process of mechanical-biological intergration as all pilots are sponsored by The Battletek Corporation™© with a lifetime supply of free MUTU Kits[1] for their patience, no other manufacturer in the world produces quality certified Battletek Corp™© MUTU Kits and Battletek Corp™© does not take any responsibility for the use of incompatible non-Battletek Corp™© upgrade kits leading to harm - regardless of severity - of the pilot or the resultant damaged Mech unit.

Now that you are briefed on all relevant Battletek Corp™© information, you may move on to the second part of this instructional video. The next segment is dedicated to what truely makes an outstanding MechWarrior.

  1. Note: There is only limited stock of MUTU Kits available to MechWarriors and so each engineer or pilot is restricted to a limited amount of withdrawals per a flexible period specified by The Battletek Corporation™©

[edit] Making a MechWarrior

The Battletek Corporation™© is renown for their production of supremely intelligent and dedicated Mech pilots and engineers and suggests this career choice to all that wish to expand their horizens by taking a certified Battletek Corp™© MechWarrior training program. With a rigorous selection process we are assured that by the end of the specified training period only the most devoted trainees shall recieve a fully endorsed contract with Battletek Corp™©, licencing them to own and pilot their very own Mech unit, sponsored of course by The Battletek Corporation™© - the future today!

Please note that whilst only prime candidates for the position are nominated for sponsorship, it is a responsibility of The Battletek Corporation™© for the Mech pilots and engineers to understand that their physical limitations whilst their Mech unit is deactivated or should a considerable distance stand between the Mech unit and its designated pilot. The Mech unit, whilst functional in nearly every climate to date is not suitible for diplomatic situations as the Battletek Corp™© brand Loudspeaker System is not intended for sensitive matters which require persuasion beyond brute intimidation. We would also like you to note that the Mech unit is not specifically intended for stealth or infiltration purposes unless the corresponding MUTU Kit has been applied - Call 13-BATTLE-TEK for more information regarding specialist and particular Battletek Corp™© brand MUTU Kits.

Abilities: A Battletek Corp™© MechWarrior is above all resilliant and intelligent and once able to pilot the Mech, shall be able to withstand incredible physical hardship. His mental capabilities and understanding of applied sciences are essential to his survival inside the Mech unit and understanding of the Mech unit including maintainance and so forth.

Races: The prime example of a physique befitting a Battletek Corp™© MechWarrior is Human as they are noted to possess the fastest physical and mental growth of all the known possible candidates to be Battletek Corp™© MechWarriors.

[edit] Class Features

All of the following are class features of the MechWarrior.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: MechWarriors are proficient with all simple weapons, but with no types of armor or shields. This is mainly due to its lack of protection when piloting a Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit and general hinderance upon the MechWarriors movement within the battlefield.

Mech Unit: A single stock-standard Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit is given to the MechWarrior at graduation, though not yet large enough to pilot, it nonetheless carries a variety of defensive and offensive capabilities, all part of The Battletek Corporation™© touch. At 1st level, the MechWarrior has the option of choosing either to sacrifice melee capability for ranged accuracy or vice versa depending on his choice of either the Brawler or Swift model, each with its own set of respective advantages and disadvantages. Please consult the Battletek Corp™© catalog for each set of specifications of either model. Remember: This decision cannot be reversed once made as each Battletek Corp™© brand Mech is custom fitted to its pilot or engineer.

Please take note that over time, with additional upgrades to the Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit its performance will increase in the combined areas of defensive and offensive capabilties. The Mech unit has an amount of Hit Dice equal to the MechWarrior's own. The Mech begins as a medium size Construct with each Hit Die being a d10 and has a Base attack bonus progression equal to 3/4 of their total Hit Dice (as cleric). Instead of gaining a number of bonus hit points relevant to size, the Mech unit instead gains a number of bonus hit points equal to double the MechWarrior's class level starting at two bonus hit points at first level (for further example the Mech unit will gain 10 bonus hit points from the MechWarrior's five class levels).

Table: Mech Unit Models

Abilities Brawler Swift
Strength 14 10
Dexterity 10 14
Wisdom - -
Charisma - -

Please note that with additional upgrades over time, the Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit will grow in size and eventually be able to be piloted by the intended MechWarrior. We apologise for any inconvienience to the pilot of engineer, though assure that waiting period will be outweighted by the eventual Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit piloting experience! Please refer to the below instruction manual in order to guage the waiting period before you are finally able to pilot your Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit.

Each Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit comes equipped with stock-standard offensive weaponry, this ranges from long to medium to short and eventually melee-capable weaponry. Each product of The Battletek Corporation™© has its own distinct set of advantages in their specialist areas and is easily customiseable with any certified Battletek Corp™© brand MUTU Kit dependant upon the MechWarrior's personal needs. The Battletek Corporation™© does not take any responsibility for any harm inflicted upon third party victims by any Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit weaponry, regardless of circumstances.

Table: Mech Unit Arms

Brand Attack Type Base
Damage
Range Area Affected
Brawler-Class Fists Melee 1d8 5 ft. Single Targeted
BULL Laser Ranged Touch 1d6 100 ft. Single Targeted
SRU Missile Launcher Ranged 1d10 60 ft. 5ft Radius
D-I Flamer Special1 1d6 30 ft. Cone
ISSAD Launcher Special2 1d6 60 ft. 10ft Radius

1:The D-I Flamer acts as a short-range cone of fire with a range of 30 ft. those within the area of effect are allowed a Reflex Saving Throw for half damage

2:The ISSAD acts as a square targeted attack with a range of 30 ft. those within the area of effect are allowed a Reflex Saving Throw for half damage

Please note that all Battletek Corp™© brand weaponry excluding the Brawler-Class Fists has minor heating issues and may be fired a maximum of once per round, if the same weapon is discharged the following round without the appropriate Battletek Corp™© brand MUTU Heatsink Kit then it will overhead and cannot be discharged for a total of five rounds.

The Battletek Corp™© brand Mech unit grows and develops much like a human being as it learns and expands its software and hardware capabilities given time. Augmentations to the Battletek Corp™© brand Mech units include upgraded hydrolics systems, extra hull plating and many more exciting developments as seen in the Battletek Corp™© catalog - we blow the competition away.

MUTU Kits: The Battletek Corporation™© proudly presents a unique addition to the already innovative Mech unit: the MUTU Kit. Short for Mech Unit Technical Upgrade Kit, it is one of the most important means for a MechWarrior to update and customize his own personal Mech unit! You can select one from the multitude available in our catalog, each with its own distinct purpose. Please note that some of the Battletek Corp™© brand MUTU Kits will only work on top of existing infrastructure, whether it be hardware or software. Please also note that whilst some of the Battletek Corp™© brand MUTU Kits may be installed multiple times, not all products are as such as some of the required inputs may be occupied by previously installed hardware, and so we wish you to apologize for any future inconvienience caused by this feature.

Hull Integrity:

MKI: Extra reinforcement is added along critical points in the hull without any significant change to weight or movement of the Mech unit, granting a +1 bonus to the Mech unit's existing natural armor bonus. This MUTU Kit may be taken multiple times and stacks with previous bonuses granted by this kit.
MKII: The cockpit and all vulnerable joint areas are now contained within heavy Battletek Corp™© brand high-grade steel girders and Battletek Corp™© brand high-grade steel surplus plating. The Mech unit now gains three times the MechWarrior's class level for determining the Mech Unit's bonus hit points.

ISSAD Weapons Update:

Brawler-Class Fists Update:

D-I Flamer Update:

SRU Missile Launcher Update:

MKI: The SRU Missile Launcher has it's stock standard barrel and trigger mechanism removed and replaced with a Battletek Corp™© brand Barrage-rank Rotating Mechanism allowing the weapon to discharge two missiles with only one motion. The only drawback is that this counts as having discharged the weapon twice as opposed to only once. You need only make a single attack roll against the target for both missiles to either hit or miss.

BULL Laser Update:

Weapons Heatsink:

Universal Heatsink: A Heatsink can be applied to any of the Battletek Corp™© brand weaponry, reducing the cooldown time and prolonging overall function. Once applied, the chosen weapon can be dicharged the round after it was last fired without consequence, however the proceeding round it must still be allowed to cool or else overheating will occur. If so the overheating period will be drastically reduced from five rounds to two rounds. This MUTU Kit can be taken multiple times, each time applying to a different weapon. Note that this MUTU Kit is not compatible with the Battletek Corp™© brand Brawler-Class Fists.

Jump Pack:

Oil Slick (Sp): At 1st level, a MechWarrior gains a spell-like ability similar to the grease spell useable 1 + Intelligence modifier/day with a minimum amount of 1/day. The exception to the spell effects is that this spell may only be used to target a 10-ft. square and not a targeted object.
