From 18th level and up you can pick your choices of spells. You basically have what you want by that time.
Shape change into an Force Dragon is a winner. If not use Reverse Gravity (you have mastery of shaping and can make open spots where your party stands. Polar Ray is a good attack spell that only can be beaten by SR. Then you have the best protection spell ever: Elminster’s Effulgent Epuration (DnD Spell) (should be an epic spell in my opinion)
