From D&D Wiki
|Editing:||Constructive edits welcome|
The mage smith is a magician who has settled down in one carefully chosen location, building himself a tower to house himself, his library and his forge. He now focuses on accessing his hitherto latent psionic powers, using them to recruit followers and to explore the planes from within the safety of his tower.
Feats: Build Magician's Tower.
Races: Those allowed to magicians, ie, Human, Deep Dwarf, Half-Giant, Mountain Dwarf, Hill Dwarf, Duergar, Half-Elf, Ogre Mage, Stone Giant, Rakshasa, Azer, Hobgoblin, Centaur, Elan, Hound Archon, Maenad, Aasimar, Satyr.
Skills: Magecraft 10 ranks.

Autohypnosis, Knowledge (architecture/engineering) (Int), Knowledge (local) (Int), Knowledge (psionics) (Int), Knowledge (the planes) (Int) and Psicraft (Int).
All the following are class features of the mage smith:
Power Points/Day: A mage smith’s ability to manifest powers is limited by the power points he has available. His base daily allotment of power points is given on Table: The Mage Smith. In addition, he receives bonus power points per day if he has a high Intelligence score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points). His race may also provide bonus power points per day, as may certain feats and items.
Powers Known: A mage smith begins play knowing one mage smith power of your choice. Every other time he achieves a new level, he unlocks the knowledge of a new power.
Choose the powers known from the psychic warrior power list. (Exception: The feats Expanded Knowledge and Epic Expanded Knowledge do allow a mage smith to learn powers from the lists of other classes.) A mage smith can manifest any power that has a power point cost equal to or lower than his manifester level.
A mage smith simply knows his powers; they are ingrained in his mind. He does not need to prepare them (in the way that some spellcasters prepare their spells), though he must get a good night’s sleep each day to regain all his spent power points.
To learn or manifest a power, a mage smith must have an Intelligence score of at least 10 + the power’s level.
