[edit] Lalomancer

[edit] Making a Lalomancer

The power of words is far beyond most mortals comprihension, but some seek to go beyond this boundery. The lalomancer is one such person, using the power of speech and the spoken word to destroy or help others or himself. The lalomancer learns the true power of the spoken word and can manipulate it in all of its ability.

Abilities: Intelligence is the most important ability to a lalomancer. A good charisma is always helpful due to the fact that most of the lalomancer skills are charisma based, as is wisdom. Strength, dexterity, and constitution are helpful for a lalomancer who wishes to enter into any for of combat.

Races: Any race can become a lalomancer, though intelligent creatures more so than others, due to the more experienced vocabulary.

Alignment: Any.

Starting Gold: 5d4×10 gp (125 gp).

Starting Age: Moderate.

[edit] Class Features

All of the following are class features of the lalomancer.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Lalomancers are proficient with a single weapon chosen upon gaining their first level of this class, this choice can not be changed later. Lalomancers are proficient with light armor, but not with shields.

Words (Sp): Starting at first level and every level there after the lalomancer learns to manipulate the power of speech and words. The lalomancer, at each level choses a word and a spell that deals with this word. I.E. the word heal could be used with any cure spell, as could the word cure. With this power the lalomancer can mimic any spell of the appropriate level, see Maximum Spell Level on Table: The Lalomancer, for the maximum spell level that a lalomancer can pick from. This spell can be from any spell list. The casting time is the same as the spell. The caster level for the spell is equal to the characters class level. The lalomancer can use each word a number of times per day equal to his/her Intelligence Modifier + 1, minimum of 1. The words derived from this ability are spell like abilities, that is auditorial dependent, the user must be able to speak, if the lalomancer is muted or unable to speak he/she can not use any lalomancer ability. The key ability for any spell used in this way is Intelligence.

Power Word (Sp): At first level, and at 5th level and every five levels there after, a lalomancer learns to use his power of speech with a particlular word that he/she can use the word at will, any number of times per day. The lalomancer picks a spell one level lower than the maximum spell level that the lalomancer can learn, and gains the ability to use it at will. The casting time is the same as the spell. The caster level for the spell is equal to the characters class level. The words derived from this ability are spell like abilities, that is auditorial dependent, the user must be able to speak, if the lalomancer is muted or unable to speak he/she can not use any lalomancer ability. The key ability for any spell used in this way is Intelligence.

Quicken Words (Ex): At 6th level the lalomancer has learned the art of quick speech, the ability to activate his/her words faster than normal. The casting time for all of the lalomancer words are shortened by one step. A casting time of one minute becomes a full round, full round becomes standard action, standard action becomes partial action, partial action becomes swift action, swift action becomes immediate action, etc.
