Abilities: Dex, Con, Str.

Races: Because of the relative simplicity of the class, knife fighters can be found in many racial societies to some degree or another. The streets and back-alleys of metropolitan cities are the breeding grounds for certain kinds of knife fighters, and so many knife fighters tend to be human. Half-elves are sometimes drawn to this class as well. Among the savage races, the knife fighters that exist are of a harsher, more violent variety.

Alignment: Any Non-lawful.

Starting Gold: 3d4 × 10 gp (75 gp).

Starting Age: Moderate.

Class Features[edit]

<-fluff about class features->. All of the following are class features of the knife fighter.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Knife fighters are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the [?hand crossbow, rapier, sap, shortbow, short sword,and kukri?]. Knife fighters are proficient with light armor, but not with shields.

Bonus Feats: At 1st level, a knife fighter gets a bonus combat-oriented feat in addition to the feat that any 1st level character gets and the bonus feat granted to a human character. The knife fighter gains an additional bonus feat at 2nd level and every three levels thereafter (5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, and 20th). These bonus feats must be drawn from the feats noted as fighter bonus feats. The knife fighter must still meet all prerequisites for the bonus feat, including ability score and base attack bonus minimums as well as class requirements.

Evasion (Ex): At 2nd level and higher, a knife fighter can avoid even magical and unusual attacks with great agility. If he makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally deals half damage on a successful save, he instead takes no damage. Evasion can be used only if the knife fighter is wearing light armor or no armor. A helpless Knife fighter does not gain the benefit of evasion.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex): Starting at 4th level, a knife fighter can react to danger before his senses would normally allow him to do so. He retains his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any) even if she is caught flat-footed or struck by an invisible attacker. However, she still loses her Dexterity bonus to AC if immobilized.
