Kinte was once a normal bugbear, until a party of adventurers started worshipping him for no particular reason, so the DM made him into an actual God.

He was once a god, but was tricked by a mad wizard named Francis Char to appear in a mortal body. Char trapped Kinte and sucked out his divine spark in an attempt to make a magic mask that would make Char immortal. Doing this turned Kinte into the normal Bugbear that the adventurers met. He escaped Char's tower, but perhaps if he can go back gets close enough to the mask, he can get his divinity back?

Kinte, when he was not trapped in this mortal body, accepted priests who spill large amounts of blood in his name, as well as bugbears in general. However, he now hates gnomes, because one imprisoned him when he became a mortal bugbear. Prayers to Kinte often include the phrase, "ALL HAIL THE GREAT GOD KINTE!"
