The Jashnian Rolling Method is made for powerful initial Ability Scores, and gives players a head start on becoming deific or divine beings in the Inath (DnD Variant Rule) system.
Because Characters do not gain additional Ability Score adjustments as they progress through the Inath Castes and Levels, it is somewhat helpful to give players a boost before the game begins. This creates off-balanced player characters, but it also means a lot bigger beasties, more dynamic activities, and a greater potential for meaningful campaign elements.
Just like rolling a normal Ability Score, begin with four d6.
Roll all four dice. Re-roll ALL 1's and 2's, including those that are rolled on a re-roll (all numbers will be between 3 and 6; Score of 9-24). Drop the lowest of the four die rolls.
Special Rules:
- If you roll three or four natural 6's (even after re-rolling 1's and 2's), re-roll the lowest die roll (even if you roll a natural 24, or four 6's). Take away 1 from the total score of all four dice, and that is your total Ability Score for that Roll.
- This rule only applies to rolls made that total three 6's plus an extra die roll of any total. The balance to this rule is that you take the re-roll number, even if it is lower than the original roll that accompanied the three 6's.
- This leaves you with a score of somewhere between 9 and 23.
- This Special Rule applies to all six rolled Ability Scores, if applicable. Ability Scores still continue to accumulate as normal if a character chooses to begin taking class levels for their earned Experience Points instead of Inath Levels.
- If you also utilize the Character Lifepath (DnD Variant Rule) ro create your character, when rolling the Personal Enlightenment section, this Ability becomes your highest Ability Score and/or your Applicable Statistic (Inath Supplement).
This rule does not generally apply to NPC characters, unless a Game Moderator or Storyteller wishes to create a character that is both an NPC for a game campaign as well as one of their own personal characters (for those who just can't help but be involved as a player in their own storyline).
