Ilthandian Sentnel (3.5e Creature)

During the time shortly after the attacks at Ezotos, many people and things where strangely drawn toward the city. There were reports about mass sacrifices, and transmutaions into strange and unimaginable beings. These are both true, and the latter produced a long line of Ilthandian creatures. These are the Ilthandian Scourge, the Ilthandian Scoundrel, the Ilthandian Sentnel, and the Ilthandian Imperial. These are regimented into a strictly organized caste society. One type of Ilthandian does not willingly go within 40 ft of another that is from more than one caste catergories away. Thus, the Imperials are never seen with anything less than a Sentnel, and so forth. Their numbers are somewhat small, because they only occupy one quadrant of the city, Ezotos. The other residents of the city know that if they control the entire city, they easily could reproduce and become a major threat to anything else on the Island of Ilyon, and seek to destroy them wherever they are spotted. Even the long-time rival Factions set aside differences to fight the common threat.

More information...

Off to your left, you hear a menacing growl, and see what appears to be a large black squid running toward you out of the alleyway. It has four long, red tentacles coming out of it's back, and seems to have a eyeball stuck under the surface of it's oily, black flesh.

The Ilthandian Sentels where once the high Councilman Ilthandian's clockwork body gaurds, but, after the attack at Ezotos, many of them betrayed their master, and destroyed all of the other Ilthandian Sentels that wouldn't follow them. They then ventured to Ezotos and apparently became corrupted by the connections to the shadow plain that occured there. They started growing human-like anatomical parts, such as eyes and mouths, that swirl around beneath their now-oily skin. They also gained genuis-level Intelligence and became self-aware.

Combat[edit]

The Ilthandian Sentnels almost always will attempt to attack from the rear, and will often stalk their prey for hours on end, and seem to feed off the nervousness that they bring with them.

Improved Grab (Ex): If a Ilthandian Sentnel hits with at least two of its' tentacle attacks, then it automatically attemps to start a grapple.

Swallow Whole: Any creature that is hit with all four of the tentacle attacks in one round is pulled forward, toward a mouth that randomly opens up on the Ilthandian Sentels' body. If the creature is one or more sizes smaller than the Sentnel and fails the strength check against the Sentnel, the creature is swallowed whole, and must try to cut out of the gullet of the creature. Being in the gullet deals 2d6 points of acid damage a round, and the gullet has AC 15 and 15 hit points. The creature that was swallowed is also affects by the poison of the Ilthandian Sentnel. See below.

Poison: 2d4 wisdom damage, 2d4 wisdom DC is Constitution based. (DC = 10 + 1/2HD + Con modifier) any creature that reduced to zero wisom by this poison starts to transform into a Ilthandian Sentnel, Scourge, or Scoundrel. If the Creature's HD is 5 or less, they become a Ilthandian Scourge, if they have 5 to 10 HD they become a Ilthandian Scoundrel, if they have 10 or more HD, they become an Ilthandian Sentnel.
