Charge. If the jednong moves at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then uses clawing leap against it on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) slashing damage.

Hopping Gait. The jednong's movement is not impaired by difficult terrain.

Sense Magic. The jednong senses magic within 120 feet of it at will. This trait otherwise works like the detect magic spell but isn't itself magical.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Clawing Leap. The jednong attempts to kick a creature it can see within 5 feet of it to the ground. The creature must make a DC 16 Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage and is knocked prone. The jednong may then make one bite attack as a bonus action. Further, it is held prone under the weight of the jednong until it can make a successful DC 16 Strength check to dislodge the jednong.
On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage, isn't knocked prone, and is pushed 5 feet out of the jednong's space into an unoccupied space of the creature's choice. If no unoccupied space is within range, the victim instead falls prone in the jednong's space.

As large and heavy as a mule, the hunting jednong is another abomination summoned from The Dark using insidious magic and sports a segmented main body, like a lobster lacking head, claws and legs. Instead of a tail, its body tapers to a single, powerful, multi-jointed leg which in turn ends in an eleven-toed foot, each digit equipped with a long, curved talon. Its immense maw runs laterally along the entire underside of its body with two double rows of inward-curving teeth. The jednong moves with a swift, efficient, hopping stride.
Voracious hunters, jednong will kill for sport as well as food. In which case it will tear the corpse to pieces before abandoning it to search for other prey. Rarely, these creatures can be found hunting in packs. They are also employed as powerful hunting animals by the priests of the Dark Powers.
