Hoostreeay were once caretakers of humans, named by a little girl who thought they were cute. many people thought they were ugly abominations and should not be treated with respect, but the girl fought for their rights until the day she died. After that, the humans cast them out into the wastelands of the world. Hoostreeay are still disliked by some humans, but most have forgotten the grudges held by early people.

Play a Hoostreeay if you want...

  • to be cute
  • to be disliked by some, but still strong and brave
  • to be mishevious sometimes, and dead serious others
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Warlord, Barbarian, Sorcerer, and, Seeker classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Hoostatreeay are small, pale, hunched humanoids, who have small scraggly branches growing out of their elbows, shoulders, ribs, spine, and behind their ears. Their ears are very long and droopy, but pointed at the end, and their eyes are solid gold, with wrinkles underneath, making them look old. Their hair is always shaggy and medium length, and always has twigs and leaves in it, and it is usually orange, green, or, purple, the leaves on the small branches that grow out of them range in the same colors. They have bat-like noses and flat, human-like teeth.

Playing a Hoostatreeay[edit]

Hoostatreeay are usually very shy and timid, but some prefer a life of adventure and partying. They prefer not to speak, but if they do then it is usually only very important. They like staying in the peace and quiet of the woods or caves, but if they think there is a worthy cause to fight for, they will gladly take up arms and fight. Also, if somebody insults them or their race, they prefer not to fight the person, but to speak to them telepathically, and haunt them for a while.

Hoostatreeay Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Hoostatreeay adventurers are described below.

Ranny is a Hoostatreeay Cleric. He lives in a small town in Athas, he lives among dragonborn, and dislikes humans. He fights any evil he can find in this small town, but it is hard to stay occupied in such a remote place. He thinks about leaving to find adventure, but doesn't want to abandon his dragonborn friends.

Misc is a Hoostatreeay Rogue. She prefers a nomadic lifestyle, mostly because if she stays in one city too long, she gets on their most wanted list. She sometimes regrets stealing, and has recently found a group of adventurers and joined them, to pay back to the people.

Follower is a Hoostatreeay Barbarian. His clan lives in the woods in the middle of Breland, he likes fighting side by side with his friends, but they often pick on him cause he's so small. He tries to ignore them, but he often feels like running away, but he has decided that, even though they pick on him, they are still his friends, and he won't abandon them.
