Holtzman Shield Proficiency (D20 Modern Feat)

Holtzman Shield Proficiency
You are proficient with using the Holtzman shield in combat.
Benefit: You can use a Holtzman energy shield and take only the standard penalties. In addition, you may activate a Holtzman personal shield as a free action.
Normal: When you are using a shield with which you are not proficient, you take the shield’s armor check penalty on attack rolls and on all skill checks that involve moving, including Ride checks.
Special: Some classes automatically gain Holtzman Shield Proficiency as a bonus feat. They need not select it.
