HexaFactor Class System (3.5e Variant Rule)
From D&D Wiki
[edit] HexaFactor Class System
HexaFactor Class system incorporates the use of a hexagonal chart to determine what extra Ability bonus you get.
The basis of this rule requires a hexagonal chart. To use the chart, leave the top and bottom tip of the hexagonal chart with '?' on it. Now the chart must contain Fighter, Cleric, Wizard and Ranger on the other points of the chart.
When done each class will correspond to an Ability. Where Fighter will be used for STR, Cleric for WIS, Wizard for INT and Ranger for DEX. now those '?' will be the player's choice of class. But the associated Ability will go like this, Top will be CON and Bottom will be CHA.
Leveling system will also change. Now each time a player level up, he/she chooses what class in the HexaFactor get 1 points. After leveling the class, the basic procedure will be carried. However to keep the leveling at a constant balance, the required EXP for the next level will not change until you level up 3 times. so that means you will need 3 1000 to change the required EXP to 3000. Benefits of HexaFactor includes gaining skills/spells from other class as you dont have a fixed class.
Also, HexaFactor have a specialized equipment mastery that when a HexaFactor character first created, he/she is given 4 "Basic Equipment Mastery" feats. "Basic Equipment Mastery" derives from what a HexaFactor character's allowed equipment to be used. When there is no "Basic Equipment Mastery" present for specific equipment, then it cannot be equipped. Accessories like Ring, Belt, Amulet, Cloak, and Buckler are standard Mastery and does not need a "B-E-M".
Other than the above mentioned rule for the HexaFactor class, All is intact.
Also, the bonus Ability gained in the HaxaFactor is in this calculation.
Each 3 Class level in a HexaFactor count as 1 Bonus Ability to the specific Ability. that means a level 6 Fighter(STR) with Level 2 Cleric(WIS) will only bear +2 STR
Bonus goes to the modifier and not in the base Ability.
For DMs, You may still use the old Class system along with my Rune Class system and this. Since its a player chose to pick either the old, Rune Class or this HexaFactor system as its Class rules.
