Geographic Area[edit]

on the northern bank of the Dragon River in the northern tip of the Bamberg Mountains overlooking Dragon Bay as it enters into Huygen Channel and the East Ocean.  To the west of the city is the Shinny Stone Quarry.   To the south of the city is a packed dirt road to Solapur.

Imports, Exports, and Resources[edit]

Guntur has abundant natural resources. Guntur trades with Taur’res livestock, grapes, lumber, and hard-white-stone. Taur’res trades hard-gray-stone, silver, and horses and passes resources on from Jodpur, Washim, Solapur, and Guntur.

History[edit]

In 247 C.E., the Human paladin Guntur Pendragon founded the city of Guntur. The original Guntur Castle is completed in 280 C.E. In 305 C.E., its ring wall and nine catapult towers were finished. In 314 C.E., Will’s Altar is completed and dedicated to the Goddess Phthino, the Goddess of Autumn. In 335 C.E., Shaelong declared Emperor and Taur'res capitol city. Twelve Grand Wizards are declared Dukes. In 353 C.E., Emperor Shaelong subjugates the Human city of Guntur under the Empire.

Government[edit]

The King of Guntur is Human paladin of the Goddess Cheimon Cid Norman the Death Cavalier. The King has two palaces, one in Taur'res and one in Guntur. The king's palace in Guntur is known as the Grave Tower. Within his court is Duke Alastrine Throwdon, Duke Nylen Shield, Baron Ceri Tree, Baron Anerin Nyth, Baron Dylan Flyblue, and Baron Yoreth Eaker.

Alastrine Throwdon, a Human ranger, is the Duke of the White Stone Mountain. He is accountable to King Cid Norman of Guntur. White Stone Mountain Castle is the keep of Duke Alastrine Throwdon. The castle is a stone fortress without Barbican.

Ceri Tree is the Baron of Treestand. He is accountable to Duke Throwdon and King Norman of Guntur. Treestand Castle is the keep of Baron Alastrine Throwdon. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Anerin Nyth is the Baron of Violet Lighthouse. He is accountable to Duke Throwdon and King Norman of Guntur. Violet Lighthouse Castle is the keep of Baron Anerin Nyth. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Nylen Shield, a Half-elf barbarian, is the Duke of Nareena’s Place. He is accountable to King Cid Norman of Guntur. Nareena’s Place Keep is the castle of Duke Nylen Shield. The castle is a stone fortress without Barbican.

Dylan Flyblue is the Baron of Hander. He is accountable to Duke Shield and King Norman of Guntur. Hander Castle is the keep of Baron Dylan Flyblue. The castle is a stone fortification with Ring Wall and Catapult Towers.

Yoreth Eaker is the Baron of Grandview. He is accountable to Duke Shield and King Norman of Guntur. Grandview Castle is the keep of Baron Yoreth Eaker. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.

Culture[edit]

The Empire's culture is a melting pot of minor cultures. Primarily, the Empire is a society based on domination and is centered around the Emperor as a victory cult figure. Dorinth is an Empire dominated by Humans but also incorporating Dragonborn, Tiefling, enslaved Dwarves, Goblins, Orcs, and Lizardfolk.

Fashion is pants and shirts with thick wool cloaks in the winter.

Although the basic common language is common, the northern continent has a distinctive accent that is recognizable with a Perception DC 10.

  1. Colubrid Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Hoshdraw Scale, a Dragonborn fight, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.
  2. Docks: The weathered wood fresh water docks are on the north side of the city on the Dragon River. The fresh water docks are on the Sinn Lake shore and are home to 70 fishing/transport boats with 7 military boats.
  3. Grandview Castle is the keep of Baron Yoreth Eaker. The castle is a stone fortification with Curtain Wall and Ballista Towers.
  4. Grave Tower is the king's palace in Guntur.

  7. Mills and Shops: There are 4 Mills and many Blacksmith's Workshops, Tanner's Workshops, Weaver's Workshops, Granaries, Bakeries, and Breweries.

  10. Outside the hard-gray-stone walls of Guntur are lumber camps, houses, fields and farms of apple orchards and vineyards, wheat, corn, oats, and barley with various livestock.

  14. Wall: Surrounding the city is a twenty-foot-high gray stone wall with two gates to access the outside land around the city. In gray stone is the Guntur Castle with a ring wall and nine catapult towers.

  16. Will’s Altar is a temple to the Goddess Phthino, the Goddess of Autumn, with 20 clerics. It is a temple, monastery, library, and university.

In 335 C.E., the year that Shaelong is declared Emperor is the year that Emperor Shaelong appointed Twelve Grand Wizards are declared Dukes. The Counts are something other than a normal human.

Count Torment is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. The Count is above all kings and is accountable directly to the Emperor. This Count’s Knight Order is the Keelback.

Dylan Flyblue is the Baron of Hander. He is accountable to Duke Shield and King Norman of Guntur.

Horath Fourshoe, a Tiefling warlord, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order of Keelback and Count Torment.

Hoshdraw Scale, a Dragonborn fight, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order of Colubrid and Count Demise.

Nylen Shield, a Half-elf barbarian, is the Duke of Nareena’s Place. He is accountable to King Cid Norman of Guntur.

Sharain Paddle, Legatus Legionis, is the leader of the Guntur Gutmen.

Institutions & Organizations[edit]

Guilds and Brotherhoods: There are several international organizations that transcend culture and race. The international organizations are very loosely organized. Merchant Guild is an international organization of buyers and seller whose symbol is a stack of coins. Librarian Guild is an international organization of book lovers and organizers (librarians) whose symbol is an open book with a colorful rainbow. Scribe Guild is an international organization of scribes and writers whose symbol is feather pen and unrolled scroll. Thespian Guild of actors, jesters, and bards whose symbol is an Elven ‘Th’ letter. Brotherhood of Smiths is an international organization of metal smith workers whose symbol is two small hammers and an anvil. Brotherhood of Builders is an international organization of stone masons and wood carpenters whose symbol is three straight lines with a vertical tree branch. Brotherhood of Gladiators is an international organization of gladiators whose symbol is a red drop of blood.

Thieves' Guilds: The main thieves' guild is headquartered in Taur'res and has government sponsorship. The main guild is known as The Emperor's Hand. The Emperor's Hand is a thieves' guild, assassin's guild, spy network for Emperor Shaelong, and secret police of the twelve Grand-Wizard Counts.

Wizard Schools: Within the Empire, there are no large organized wizard schools. However, throughout the land are innumerable independent wizard to wizard mentoring and training. Throughout the land are many individual wizard towers who contain powerful wizards and warlocks and their pupils.

Count Demise is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. Colubrid Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.

Count Torment is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. Keelback Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.

Temples and Chapels: The Minor Gods are honored throughout the Empire of Dorinth. Temples exist to Spring Goddess, Summer God, Autumn Goddess, and Winter Goddess. Guntur is dedicated to and has the Will’s Altar a temple to the Goddess Phthino, the Goddess of Autumn, with 20 clerics. It is a temple, monastery, library, and university.

Army Special Forces: The military uniform colors are mostly red and white trim with a black capital ‘G’. Each Duke and Baron has his own troops, normally named after the keep in which they serve. The city is patrolled by the Town Militia 100 men along with 480 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men).

Guntur Gutmen of 500 soldiers (a Cohorts included 6 centuriae or a total of 480 fighting men) are light infantry in leather armor and long swords. The Guntur Gutmen have six Centurions [insignia of four feathers on a copper circle with silver perimeter] and one commanding Legatus Legionis (the overall Legionary commander whose insignia is of an attacking hawk on a gold circle). Legatus Legionis Sharain Paddle is the leader of the Guntur Gutmen.

Knight Orders:

Count Demise is one of the twelve Soul-Killer-Grand-Wizard Dukes, who are part of the Council of Victory that advices the Emperor. Each of the twelve Grand Wizard Dukes has its own Knight Order (available to heavy-armored cavalry, paladins, fighters, warlords). Each Knight Order is a cult of victory, so that, the most victorious fighter is head of the Knight Order and leadership is determined through trial-by-combat. The Count is above all kings and is accountable directly to the Emperor. This Count’s Knight Order is the Colubrid. Colubrid Tower is the home and fortress of the Count and headquarters of his Knight Order. Hoshdraw Scale, a Dragonborn fight, is the Blood Champion and the head of Knight Order. The Tower is also a Wizard School with library and university.
