Fencing instruction[edit]
Cost: 25 gp per workweek
This tutoring is considered a downtime activity (PHB p. 187). It takes ten workweeks to complete the tutoring, which grants proficiency with two of the following weapons or shields
- épée, sabre, foil or rapier, and parrying dagger, fencing cloak, or buckler.
Savoire Faire. The tutored character may double their proficiency bonus with Charisma (Persuasion) checks made when dealing with others who are trained in the art of fencing.
Backgrounds. At the DMs discretion, some backgrounds may include fencing instruction. From the Player's Handbook, this maybe the Noble and Charlatan backgrounds.
