Elemental Axe (5e Equipment)

Weapon (greataxe or handaxe), very rare (requires attunement)

The Elemental Axe is a wonderful weapon for any adventurer to obtain, what with it's +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls, as well as its ability to cast prismatic spray twice a day (kind of) before regaining this feature at the next dawn!

Elements Collide. Before making an attack, you must announce whether or not you will be using this feature of the weapon. When your attack is successful, on top of dealing regular attack damage to the target, they also treated as if they were a target of the prismatic spray spell, but only centered on that target. Aside from the change of range, the normal rules of the spell apply. If your attack misses, you expend one of its uses, regardless of the fact that it missed. Once this feature has been used twice, you cannot use it again until the next dawn.

There's Culture in Chaos. While one can appreciate the diversity of a culture, it doesn't always mean one will understand it. While attuned to this weapon, you can listen to and understand the speech of creatures from the Elemental Planes, such as the dialects of Primordial or the bird-like speech of aarakocra. However, while you understand what is being said, you cannot communicate in any of these languages back, regardless of if you're proficient in them.
