Ebon Knight[edit]

They were once ordinary people trained to serve the Highlord Mograine as powerful soldiers and generals of his army. Those who chose to go to the academy of the Ebon Blades chose to block out life from the young teen days to adult hood, some training longer than others to gain more endurance and discipline. The way these people lived in the academy is like a Boot Camp for elites and soldiers so there was no time for playing and laughing.


Making an Ebon Knight[edit]

This class is adjustable to any party role needed It can get in the front of the damage and absorb the majority of incoming damage or deal the most damage.

Abilities:

  • A Blood Ebon Knight concentrates on Strength, Constitution and Dexterity.
  • A Frost Ebon Knight concentrates on Strength, Constitution and Dexterity (Charisma is also helpful).
  • A Unholy Ebon Knight concentrates on Strength, Constitution and Dexterity.

Races: Human, True Ancient Humans, Dwarf, Drow, Orc, Half-Giant, Gnome, Halfling, Wood Elves, High Elves and Half-Elves.

Alignment: Lawful Neutral, Neutral, Neutral Good, Neutral Evil, Chaotic Neutral.

Starting Gold: 5d10x10 (500gp) Starting Age: They usually get out of the academy around "Adult-Hood"

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Ebon Knight.

Path's Specialty 1: Blood Strike: Frost Strike: Blighted Strike

Path's Presence: Blood Presence: Frost Presence: Blighted Presence

Path’s Specialty 2: Rune Strike, Obliterate, Blighted Strike


Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A Ebon Knight is proficient with simple and martial weapons and all armor.

Rune Forging: All Ebon Knights can enchant their weapons with a red, green or frost glow with attributes to go along with them, which will work 100% of the time and will last forever as long as the Ebon Knight is holding this item. No other class may touch the weapon if they do they will take damage at around 1d12 + 1d6. This weapon as soon as this weapon is enchanted is now unbreakable.

The Cadet's Destiny: An Ebon Knight must make a choice at the 1st level, as to which path to take that they learned from the academy. The options being; the Path of Blood, Path of Frost, or Path of Unholy, these govern the advancement of the Ebon Knight from this point on in the class and can’t be changed.

Path of Blood: If the Ebon Knight chose this path, he/she uses the blood of others to turn the tide of battle, with the smallest drop of blood. The blood path uses the blood to heal and sustain him/her while dealing tremendous damage.

Path of Frost: This path provides more stability and crowd control; the Ebon Knight’s most key abilities used to reduce the amount of incoming damage by usually making their skin hard as Steel. This path also has abilities that Increase attention to the Ebon Knight.

Path of Unholy: An Ebon Knight that selects this path is a patient and powerful knight. This knight uses poisons and acids to kill their enemies slowly.

Horn of Battle (Unholy Only): The Ebon Knight gains access to the horn of Battle. This is a horn when blown sends out an aura of frozen, fiery courage granting all allies in a 70 ft radius a +2 bonus to (STR) and (DEX) Until Canceled.

Icebound Fortitude (Frost Only): The Ebon Knight gains the spell-like ability to harden his skin in order to reduce incoming damage. Causes his skin to harden granting himself a natural armor bonus of +3. This ability lasts for 1 hour.

Abomination's Might (Blood Only): The Ebon knight releases a powerful shout that grants a +2STR and DEX bonus to him/her self and all allies within a 70 ft radius Until Canceled.

Raven Blessing: the Ebon knight receives a +2 to strength, +10 to total hp.

Blood Presence (Blood only): Bloody red aura mist that radiates off his/her body when in use, the use of this increase the stats are as Follows:

  • + 1 strength
  • + 1 Dexterity
  • + 5 Weapon Damage

Blood Strike (Blood Only): This ability does a life draining effect that drains hit points. The Damage added to the weapon from this ability is as follow:

  • 1st level 1d6
  • 5th level 1d8
  • 10th level 1d10
  • 15th level 1d12

Rune Strike (Blood Only): This ability works as an extra attack during an attack of opportunity. This ability can be used as a extra attack on a regular basis. When this ability is used, the weapon of choice will glow bright red and then burst into flames when blood from the enemy touches the weapon. The enemy will burn from this. The damage is as follow:

  • 10th level 1d6
  • 15th level 1d8
  • 20th level 1d10

Unholy Presence (Unholy Only): Deep Green aura mist that radiates off his/her body when in use, the use of this increase the stats are as Follows:

  • + 1 strength
  • + 1 Dexterity
  • + 5 Weapon Damage

Unholy Strike (Unholy Only): This move does a poison damage to the enemy. The damage added is below:

  • 1st level 1d4 added to weapon damage
  • 5th Level 1d6 added to weapon damage
  • 10th Level 1d8 added to weapon damage
  • 15th Level 1d10 added to weapon damage
  • 20th Level 1d12 added to weapon damage

Blighted Strike (Unholy Only):This move does tremendous amounts of poison and acid damage. When this move is being used, the weapon of choice shines bright green and the weapon looks corrosive. Damage is as follow:

  • 10th level 1d6
  • 15th level 1d8
  • 20th level 1d10

Frost Presence (Frost Only): Arctic blue aura mist that radiates off his/her body when in use, the use of this increase the stats as follow:

  • + 2 Charisma
  • + 2 Strength
  • + 5 to AC
  • + 15 to HP

Frost Strike (Frost Only): The Frost Strike ability does not only frost damage but it also creates who ever the Ebon Knight hits focus on him for 10 rounds. Frost damage added as follow:

  • 1st level 1d4 added to weapon damage
  • 5th Level 1d6 added to weapon damage
  • 10th Level 1d8 added to weapon damage
  • 15th Level 1d10 added to weapon damage
  • 20th Level 1d12 added to weapon damage

Obliterate (Frost Only): This specific ability is one of the most powerful abilities in an Ebon Knights arsenal, this ability is able to cleave when used in a 180-degree turn in front of him hitting anyone for a significant amount of damage including frost damage. This ability also causes any enemy to focus on the Ebon Knight for 20 rounds. Damage is as follows:

  • 10th Level 1d8
  • 15th Level 1d10
  • 20th Level 1d12

Aura of the ebon knight: This Aura is a sustained ability that can last as long as he is still breathing and alive. The Effects of the aura are as follows:

  • Increases your initiative by 6
  • Increases all saves values by 5
  • Increases STR and DEX values for himself and the group by 5


Power of strength: The Ebon Knight gains another bonus to strength and constitution +4

Avatar of Vengeance: when the ebon knight dies in combat he can tap into his very soul and can still continue fighting this last until the end of the battle and must immediately be resurrected or else the body and the soul are separated until wished.


Path mastery: The Ebon Knight can now pick a path in which to specialize in and gains a bonus from it.

  • Veteran of the great war(blood +10 to weapon damage as fire)
  • Frost generals blessing (frost gains a +10 to ac and fort)
  • Horseman's gift (run speed increased by 40ft +5 weapon damage.)

Campaign Information[edit]

Ebon Knights live by codes while in the Ebon Blades Academy:

Ebon Knight Code of Honor:

  • Only one path may be chosen at the Academy of the Ebon Blades.
  • Once you pick that certain path you will have to learn the rest of your path by going out and training on your own.
  • If an Ebon Knight cadet get caught using a shield or if an Ebon Knight even touches a shield a Magical backup that is on you will permanently erase all knowledge of how to be a Ebon Knight.
  • An Ebon Knight May Not learn any other “class” but what they have learned at the academy.
  • Drinking is off limits to any Ebon Knight cadet while still in training (any of them above level 5 can drink freely)
  • Those who do not follow a deity will always later on, in their journey to master their path (around level 10), May choose their OWN deity to follow however if the Ebon Knight ever is caught by any member of the Ebon Blade. Any of the Ebon Blade community will have to kill that member on sight.


Playing a Ebon Knight[edit]

Religion: Only Certain deities are worthy of the Ebon Blades Cause:

  • Those who wish to go with the path of Blood usually go with Hades, Nike or Hera.
  • Those who wish to go with the path of Frost usually go with Poseidon, Pan or Nike.
  • Those who wish to go with the path of Unholy usually go with Tyr, Nike or Hephaestus.

Other Classes: This class is a leader and figher.

Combat: The Ebon Knight is more of a fighter, loves to get close and personal.

Advancement: This class CANNOT multi-class because they believe in a code where they believe they are the one powerful being nobody else could stop them if they tried.

Ebon Knights in the World[edit]

The only thing worse than a warrior who wount back down is a warrior who will fight to his dying breath and then get up and continue fighting, unrelenting too scary aint it? -Lord Grimfang

Daily Life: Each day of training to better their skills so that they will always be at the top of his/her game in battle.

Notables: Lord Raven Storm, Lady Death Whisper and Highlord Mograine.

Organizations: Ebon Blades.

NPC Reactions: People often fear what they do not understand. Bards are always curious, Bar keeps will always sell to them, everyone else will sell to them at a moderate price in a large city, and in small villages they will always get a cheap price out of fear.

Ebon Knights Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge(History) can research Ebon Knights to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

20 These Strange beings glow a certain color while in battle Mossy Green, Reddish black or Snowy Blue must be the path they follow as whatever their kind is. You will ultimately know that this being is an Ebon Knight.

Ebon Knights in the Game[edit]

The knights of the Ebon blade reside in there floating citadel and are always looking for ways to better them selves, and exact revenge on there formar masters.

Adaptation: Can be used between the 3 knights each type of knight are a challange together its a tough fight this is a flexiable class.
