[edit] Dragon Age
This is a campaign setting based off of the Dragon Age video game.
- Background
Dragon Age: Origins takes place in the country of Ferelden, during a time of civil strife. There is an army of corrupt soldiers known as the darkspawn threatening to invade. The darkspawn have been slowly over taking the dwarves beneath the ground, only two of their previous 13 great cities remain, and searching the deeps for an evil and intelligent creature that can organize their massive numbers. Now they have found it, and are preparing an attack on the surface. An army was gathered to face the darkspawn army, but due to the betrayal of one of his most trusted generals, Loghain, the battle was lost and King Cailan of Fereleden was killed in battle. Now the country is in upheaval as Loghain attempts to take control of the throne. While the threat of invasion is cause for fear in the land of Ferelden, there are few things that the inhabitants fear more than mages. Mages are seen as incredibly powerful and incredibly dangerous, because it only takes a momentary lack of judgment to send them on a power trip, killing many. the details of what this fear does to mages is described in the classes section. The Dragon Age campaign setting is filled with both political turmoil and is on the verge of being overrun by an invading army, leading to a great background for a political or war campaign.
