Posting Converted Spells[edit]

I have gone through the 1978 incarnation of the Swords & Sorcery handbook and decided to convert the spells to Dungeons & Dragons 3.5. I have done it successfully, and, seeing that they are nowhere on the internet, I want to post them here for other players to use and enjoy. For the quest I'm in, we're including them as single-use scrolls that have an Imprint feature built into them, which would allow the user to cast the spells whenever he or she wants to. We've written them up as being levels 10-16, and my DM says that I shouldn't restrict others by saying that they can only be scrolls. The problem I'm having is that 1) I don't want to receive a C&D letter if I do post them, and 2) it says that if they are not my intellectual property, I need permission from the original author to post them. Is there any way I can just post them here while giving credit to the original team, seeing as the only thing I've done is convert them from one format to another? Or do I actually need to get written consent from whomever owns Swords & Sorcery?

I've been posting converted 1e spells and items. I believe that as long as you're not reproducing the original text, and we remain noncommercial, it's fine (it's not like modifying an image, which becomes a "derivative"). Marasmusine (talk) 04:59, 28 June 2015 (MDT)
