Dairlon is an ancient halfling with a white beard, wrinkled face and gnarled hands. He keeps the large hood of his black robes over his face, but light glints off his round spectacles, an invention of his own. He can be seen carrying a single large tome in his arms or several smaller books cinched in a belt and slung over his shoulder.
Dairlon dislikes being to forward and revealing, encouraging his followers to remain suspicious, though not necessarily distrusting, of anyone too open about their past. He encourages his clergy to be open, however, and welcome any stranger with stories of themselves.
 Clergy and Temples
A priest or preistess of Dairlon wears vestments of black over white garments which can be seen under the black. This is symbolic of Dairlon's belief that, no matter how twisted or vile a person's outer secrets, their soul is always pure. Priests handle the most sacred texts of Dairlon and often work as scriveners or librarians. Temples of Dairlon are well-hidden, but accessible to those who understand the signs. Temples are usually located near a Scivener's shop or a library where one of the high priests lives or works. Such a location will have Dairlon's symbol, the locked tome, painted or carved on the inside of the front doorframe.
Dairlon and his worshippers are secretive and mysterious. Their dealings with others generally do not alter based on the person's race, because any devout follower of Dairlon knows that everyone has a secret to be discovered. Many people are offset by the distant nature of Dairlon and his followers, thinking them suspicious and untrustworthy. Nothing could be further from the truth, as Dairlon and his followers return confidence in them with confidence in those who trust them, sharing a secret for a secret and a lie for a lie.
 NPC Stat Block
Resurrection: A month after the deities death they get resurrected at their primary temple (or at another high ranking temple of their choosing). The deity doesn't lose any experience and this effect cannot be countered.
