Cucoos are the bane of adventurers everywhere. Normally harmless, when attacked every single one within 1,000 feet homes in on you until you are dead or flee.
Sense Cucoo Distress: If any cucoo is attacked within 1,000 feet, all other cucoos sense it and home in on the offender. This is instinctual, and cannot be blocked by any means short of deity intervention.
Peck to Death: A cucoo does 1d6+1 damage with its beak. This pecking ignores ALL forms of damage reduction, and can even harm oozes (without spitting them).
Return to peace: Once the offender(s) are either dead, or have fled at least 1,000 feet from all cucoos in the area (or ducked inside a building), then all cucoos that had been attacking them go back to what they were doing before. They do not seam to even care if you walk past them later, unless you foolishly attack them again.
The cucoo is mostly just to discourage attacking small animals. As such, no XP or loot rewards are given if one is slain.
