[edit] Major Power Groups in the World of Covenant

  • Sacred Priory of Saint Constantine

Founded long ago by the renowned holy man known as Saint Constantine of Hamelin, the Priory of St. Constantine is dedicated to the preservation, upkeep and protection of the vast array of demonic knowledge and history that it has acquired over the ages. Their wealth of spiritual wisdom is unparalleled in the entire world and many demonologists would, no doubt do anything to get their hands on even a small fragment of the priory’s treasure trove of knowledge. The Priory has secret embassy branches across the whole world where requests for Priory material and resources may be made. However, to protect themselves from raving cultists, deranged Satanists and over demanding demon hunters, the priory’s main base of operations is well hidden, though it is rumored to be located somewhere in Romania, nestled within the most remote, secluded mountainside in all of the of the country. Whatever the case, the Priory of St. Constantine is wary not to give precious information to just any outsider.

  • Knightly Order of Beowulf

Contrary to popular belief, Beowulf the legendary fighter of Germanic folklore, did in fact exist. He had both immense courage and strength, and was a renowned demon hunter who killed many a fiend with his mighty blade, as recorded in his many tales. Over the ages, the warriors who served under the heroic Beowulf silently shifted and changed accordingly to the times. Still, even as they changed, they forever carried out the knightly code that their ancestors upheld and work even harder to protect humanity from the hordes of the underworld. The Knights of Beowulf, have changed their tactic time and time again, but they hold fast to their ideas of honor, brotherhood and loyalty to the Knighthood. Even today they patrol the borders of the spirit realm using modern technology and ancient wisdom to aid their mission.

  • Church of Satan (Satanists)

Actually more sad than dangerous, the Church of Satan, or any devil worshipping junkie for that matter, include those who have been swayed under diabolical influences without knowing the true consequences of the situation they partake in. Many times, the Satanist doesn’t even realize the existence of a devil in their midst. The Church of Satan was started not too long ago by a lesser devil looking for a source of amusement. The Church of Satan promises no restrictions on moral code and tricks individuals into becoming eventual cannon fonder for their forces by obtaining their corrupted souls. Though occasionally giving rise to a notorious rapist or serial killer, Satanists pose no real danger to a well-trained demon hunter. In short, Satanists are really grunts, and are servants to an evil force they can never hope to fully understand.

  • Zana and Tos

Once, not to long ago, the occult was a major fad in the western world. Everything from tarot cards, palm readings, fortune telling and divination became a common thing to do in one’s domestic parlors. When the fad died however, there were the few who still dabbled in the mystical arts. These upper class citizens became enthralled by alchemy, wizardry and other dark arts, as they sought to renew old and ancient covenants with the forgotten deities of a more bygone era. These new magicians would develop into what is now the modern day company Zana and Tos, basically being a country club for the magically gifted. Not really an imminent threat, Zana and Tos members tend to contact spirits and minor evils at the most, which will sometimes rage out of the industry’s control. In truth they are simply old men who are interested in the occult, and will pay a pretty penny for exotic demon parts and trophies to add to their disturbing collection.
