A itty bitty pear shaped penguin stands before you, its body made of purple cloth, standing on two wooden peg legs, and a most unnerving look in its beady little eyes.

Cooler Homunculi are creatures created by the spell Ell's Handy Homunculus. They are both cute and mildly disturbing, as they have a habit of staring discomfortingly at people sometimes with strange intensity. Other times they go completely opposite, playing around using it's skating ability, and dancing. It is one of the more quirky homunculi.

Coolers have a +8 racial bonus to Swim checks.

While generally constructs are neutral, a homunculi picks up the alignment of its creator on casting.

Combat[edit]

Handy homunculi make poor weapons. While it has a beak, it prefers to skate into a hiding spot, firing it's Chilling Gaze, then escaping again. It is one of the more intelligent homunculi and will use some tactics, generally by taunting and goading.

Chilling Gaze (Su)

Every 1d4 rounds a Cooler Homunculus may employ Ray of Frost as the spell, at a CL equal to its HD.

Skate (Su)

A cooler homunculi can create a slippery rime of ice under its legs, allowing it to ice skate over a surface. On a flat surface, this increases its speed by +10, and on a slope, +20. It cannot go uphill while skating, go through difficult terrain, or in other terrains where it would be impossible (such as the irregular surface of a sandy desert). However, in this state it is considered a flying creature when dealing with wind effects, as it is easy to push about. Activating and deactivating skate is a standard action.

Construction[edit]

The body is made of wood and fabric, with the core crystal often embedded in the belly. A drop of the caster's blood is mixed in with the fabric stuffing, which animates the wooden skeleton on casting Ell's Handy Homunculus. The entire cost of supplies equals 500 gp.

Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (weaving) or Craft (woodworking) check.

CL 1st; Ell's Handy Homunculus, Ray of Frost; Never sold; Cost 500 gp + 25 XP.
