Cerulean Standard[edit]

“My flag is your guide and my body your shield.”
—Brent, Lord Captain of the Cerulean Guard, the evening before a great assault on an Orcish dukedom.

Prerequisite: Color Bearer, Blue Standard

Where Blue Standards have in the past ultimately ended up changing the trim and flags they rode into battle, the Cerulean Standard is an honor they never achieve, despite their reverence for it. Selflessness is paramount with the vivid hues of silver and azure glowing across the gilded edges of the flags of these brave knights and warriors. They are ultimately an inspiration, not for the damage they do unto the enemy, nor the kills they rack up in combat, but for the valor they display as they give every drop of their blood, and shred of their flesh for their allies to fight instead. They are living martyrs.

Cerulean Standard Path Features[edit]

Selfless Risks (11th Level): When you spend an action point to take an extra action, your allies gain +3 to all defenses until the end of your next turn. You may, however, choose to roll 1d6, and take that as a penalty to all your defenses until the end of the encounter, so that they may keep the +3 until the end of the encounter as well. The bonus for your allies stacks with all other bonuses. As a free action, you may end that effect.
Valorous Guardian (11th Level): When battle starts, roll 1d4. For the first rounds of the battle equal to that roll, all allies within 10 squares of you gain a bonus to all defenses equal to your Charisma Modifier. This stacks with all other bonuses.
Majesty in Defense (16th Level): When you use Invigorating Flag, roll another die of equal size for the effect. When you use Banner Preservation, roll another 2 dice of equal size for the effect.

Weaving Colors Cerulean Standard Attack 11
You weave effortlessly in and out around your enemies, leaving them confused as to where your allies are, but not of where you are.
Encounter Star.gif Martial, Implement
Standard Action Close Burst 3
Requirement: Staff or Spear group weapon equipped
Target: Each enemy in burst
Attack: Charisma Vs. Will
Hit: 2d6 + Charisma Modifier damage
Effect: The target cannot see any of your allies until the end of your next turn. You grant it combat advantage, however.

Safety Paid in Blood Cerulean Standard Utility 12
You would sooner perish than let a brother spill his blood needlessly.
Encounter Star.gif Martial, Implement
Standard Action Close Burst 5
Requirement: Staff or Spear group weapon equipped
Target: Each ally in burst
Effect: Each target gains 1d8 to all defenses when being struck by an opportunity attack, until the end of the encounter. This bonus does not apply to any other type of attack. With every opportunity attack provoked, the target loses 1 point of the bonus until it reaches 0. At any point, you may do a secondary effect as a free action.

Secondary Effect: The target gains 1d4 more to this bonus. The bonus, however, now decreases at twice the speed it did before. You also take 1d6 damage from exerting yourself so much to keep your allies safe. You may repeat this effect as many times as you want. Upon every repeat, only the 1d4 more is earned, and the speed doubles again ( 1, then 2, then 4, then 8, etc ), and the damage die doubles as well, 1d6 at first, then 2d6, then 4d6, and so on. Using this effect on multiple targets does not feed into this hastened decline, but repeats on a single target do, despite what may happen in-between. Further, if the bonus reaches 0 or less, you may no longer do this for that target.
