Shapechanger. The bionoid can use its action to polymorph into a bionoid, or back into its true form, which is a Medium humanoid. Its statistics, other than its size and AC, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Keen Sight. The bionoid has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

Crystal Eye. The large crystal in the bionoid's forehead houses the soul of the bionoid. It has an AC of 20 and 45 hit points. If the eye is destroyed the bionoid is killed forever. The eye resembles a gemstone of any type the DM chooses. If the eye is touched by a humanoid after a bionoid is killed the eye rewrites the host in favor of the bionoid completely destroying the host. In humanoid form the gem is hidden inside the skull.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The bionoid makes five attacks: two with its forearm blades, one with its kick and two with its fists. Alternatively, it makes three attacks with its halberd.

Halberd. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) slashing damage.

Forearm Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) slashing damage.

Kick. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Energy Wave (1/Day). The bionoid releases energy in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 33 (6d10) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

A bionoid, Source

Bionoids are chitinous, bipedal humanoid insects with a glowing circular gem in the center of their forehead. The first bionoids were elvish creations from The Unhuman Wars. During the wars, volunteer elves were transformed into the ultimate fighting machine. Bionoids have two forms: the large insect-like monster and their base humanoid form.

Inhuman Origins. Bionoids have two ways of creating more of their kind. One is the natural reproduction of their humanoid forms, the natural offspring have full control of when they can change to bionoid form. The other is from a crystalline egg produced in bionoid form. This egg is disc-shaped with a single crystalline "trigger" in the center. When this egg is touched by a non-goblinoid the egg bursts and attaches to the host. This host gains the ability to transform into a bionoid when danger threatens this change is uncontrollable. The host's alignment is also changed to neutral good and gain a natural AC of 13. A bionoid created with an egg or natural born will breed true if it breeds with a non-bionoid. If a goblinoid or orc touches an egg, it explodes killing it and the creature touching it.
