Description[edit]

Bundled up barb wire in the shape of a worm.

Combat[edit]

When sneak attacking, the Barb Wire Worm will try to surround your group. If caught by surprise, it will coil up in a 20 foot diameter and bite. This is similar to the purple worm. If given the opportunity, it will try to execute Improved Grab and Swallow Whole.

Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability, a Barb Wire Worm must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can attempt to swallow the foe the following round.

Swallow Whole (Ex): A Barb Wire Worm can try to swallow a grabbed opponent of a smaller size than itself by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponent takes 6d8+12 points of crushing damage plus 20 points of piercing damage per round from the worm’s barbed insides. Way of getting out is totally up to you and the Dungeon Master. A Gargantuan Barb Wire worm’s interior can hold 2 Large, 8 Medium, 32 Small, 128 Tiny, or 512 Diminutive or smaller opponents.

Bind (Ex): This is when the worm wraps around the opponent. At this point, nether the opponent or the worm can move squares. To use this attack the Barb Wire Worm must be right next to the opponent or surrounding the opponent(s). The opponent takes 6d8+12 points of crushing damage plus 20 points of piercing damage per round from the worm’s barbs.

Skills: Mothers Wrath when around her young she will get a +25 to all attack rolls and damage.

Origins[edit]

A long time ago, a pig farmer had some beasts break into his pig pen, rip apart, and eat his pigs every night. After a few months of this happening, the farmer got tired of buying more pigs for the beasts to devour. One day, he got his hands on a spell book of reanimation and decided to use it on his barb wire fence. Being inexperienced in magic, he unknowingly performed the spell incorrectly. At first, the Barb Wire Worm listened to the farmer and devoured the beasts that had been eating his pigs. The farmer being happy as can be, does not even think about whether the worm will need to eat again and carries on with his day. The next morning, the farmer wakes up from a nice full night's sleep. He preforms his daily routine: put on clothes, make breakfast, and check on the pigs. When he got out to the pen, the pigs were gone. Only a puddle of blood and pieces of flesh were left behind. Quickly realizing that it had been his fence that ate them, he grabbed a meat clever. Running outside in a crazed madness, he started hacking away at the Barbed Wire Worm. Unfazed by this, the worm turned the farmer and swallowed him whole.
