Avoki can be easily mistaken for humans at first glance, but this impression fades quickly. Avoki are slimmer and slightly shorter than humans, and their noses and lips are less distinguished. Their eyes are similarly larger. A column of brown spots runs from their hairline down their neck, arms and legs, similar to those of their githyanki cousins. However, their skin and hair colors are akin to those of humans, allowing them to masquerade as such while wearing a hood.
No one knows quite how the Avoki came across the ability to recall their parent's memory. The best theory involves some sort of symbiotic creature; which would also explain their tails.

Avoki favor the Artificer, Swordmage, Wizard, and Warlock classes. Three sample Avoki adventurers are described below.
Lilan is a artificer who knew his calling ever since he picked up a flask of chemicals. The never-ending world of arcane knowledge and technical formulas fascinates him, and he loves inventing new items and potions. He joined a adventuring party after blowing up his landlord's basement and has never settled down since.
Anuii is a warlock with the star pact. She charts the stars nightly, and she journals even the slightest cosmic event. Despite the preachings (or rather, shoutings) of her cleric "friend" she wonders where she will go when her time is up, as well as those who fall to her warlock's curse. She hardly speaks even to her closest companions.
Alai is a wizard with a thirst for knowledge. He searches for knowledge contained in tomes and scrolls, and tries to discover the laws and functions of the universe. He adventures as a way to find new secrets he hasn't seen before.
Roleplaying an Avoki
When creating an avoki adventurer, here are a few points to consider.
- To be descended from githyanki
- To rememer your parent's memories faintly
Avoki are curious and creative, always on the lookout for new ideas. They are easily excited by one topic, making them seem eccentric at times. Their curiosity never extends to recklessness, however, they prefer to observe from a safe distance.
Avoki are never happier then when they're learning.
