Blackguard of Slaughter Class Features
All of the following are class features of the blackguard of slaughter.
Detect Good and Law (Sp): At will, a blackguard of slaughter can use detect good and law as a spell-like ability, simultaneously duplicating the effect of the detect good and detect law spells. A blackguard of chaos can't distinguish between creatures that are good, lawful, or both with this ability.
Smite Good and Chaos (Su): Once per day a blackguards of slaughter may smite evil, which lasts for 1 round per point of charisma bonus. During this time, when a blackguard of slaughter makes a melee attack against a creature with an alignment that is either good, lawful, or both, the damage is multiplied by 2+Blackguard Level/10, rounded down to the nearest half. The damage multiplier stacks with critical hits.
Undead Ally (Su): Mindless undead are indifferent rather than hostile towards blackguards of slaughter that are second level or higher. They will still attack if commanded to or if the blackguard attacks them. Additionally, he may improve the attitude of an intelligent undead through intimidation.
Deadly Touch (Su): Beginning at 2nd level, a blackguard of slaughter can cause wounds with a successful touch attack. Each day she can deal a total number of hit points of damage equal to her paladin level × his Charisma bonus. An opponent subjected to this attack can make a Will save (DC 10 + 1/2 paladin level + paladin's Cha modifier) to halve the damage dealt. Alternatively, a paladin of slaughter can use any or all of this power to cure damage to undead creatures, just as an inflict wounds spell does. This power otherwise functions identically to the paladin's lay on hands ability.
Fear Aura (Su): Beginning at 3rd level, a blackguard of slaughter radiates a fearful aura out to 20 ft. Creatures with a number of HD less than or equal to the blackguard must make a will save (DC= 1/2 blackguard level+cha modifier or be effected as the fear spell.
Rebuke Undead (Su): When a blackguard of slaughter reaches 4th level, he gains the supernatural ability to rebuke undead. He may use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + his Charisma modifier. He rebukes undead as a cleric of his own level would.
Sneak Attack: This ability, gained at 4th level, is like the rogue ability of the same name. The extra damage increases by +1d6 every four levels beyond 4th (8th 12th 16th 20th). If a blackguard gets a sneak attack bonus from another source the bonuses on damage stack.
Undead Companion (Sp): Upon or after reaching 5th level, a blackguard of slaughter can create an undead abomination to serve him. The blackguard’s companion further gains HD and special abilities based on the blackguard’s character level (see the table below).
Carnage: A blackguard of slaughter can use points from his deadly touch damaging pool to produce an effect that allows him to better cause chaos. The effective caster level for each ability is the blackguard's blackguard level, and the effective spell level is half that. All abilities require the blackguard to touch the subject.
Animate (Su): At level 13, a blackguard of carnage may create undead, as animate dead, create undead, or create greater undead. The blackguard can use this to create any undead that a spell can, so long as that spell's level is at or below the effective spell level of this ability. This costs 5 points per HD if a skeleton or zombie is created, or 10 points per HD if any other undead is created.
Enervate (Su): At level 17, a blackguard of carnage can inflict a number of negative levels, no greater than 1/4th his blackguard level, with a single attack. Costs 50 points per negative level bestowed. There is no hard limit per day to how many negative levels a blackguard can inflict this way, except for his deadly touch pool.
Apotheosis of Undeath (Su): At level 18, a blackguard gains the undead type and all undead traits, except he may still be raised.
