Arsenasite[edit]

You thought an Umber Hulk was scary...

Physical Description[edit]

Arsenasites are a race of Medium-sized insect-humanoids and are an 'Exotic' extant cousin of the more commonly known Thri-Keen. The arsenasites have largely been enslaved by less civilized races, such as Trolls, Ogres, Orcs, and sometimes Humans. This enslavement had largely been unquestioned for centuries due to the common belief that the arsenasites are just a subrace of Umber Hulk, but are in fact their own unique race. While having more in common with the Umber Hulk, arsenasites do not possess the large mandibles of their subterranean counterparts.

History[edit]

The history of the arsenasites has been lost largely due to their enslavement, but some stories passed down through the years tells of a world of ancient woods with trees as tall as the oceans are deep. It is unknown if this is actually the material plane or if these hulking insectoids originate from the fey wilds or possibly the beastlands.

Society[edit]

Arsenasites that do escape their bondage and form groups large enough to make communities believe in freedom above all things. They work like insects striving to complete one goal, but their leadership is changed monthly, as the old leader will pass on his reign to another until the entire coven has led and the cycle repeats.

Arsenasite Names[edit]

Typically Arsenasites are not given true names, due to their enslavement, most have retained their slave names out of convenience. Though not truly gender specific, some often are associated either by a number, a code, or more intelligent and charismatic Arsenasites will create a name based on their environment and personality, rather than gender.

Example: B-12, 29935, Birch, Snowflake, Rage
