Aiel'Vasai (3.5e Race)

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: References traits in the description but doesn't actually go through them at any point. Mismatch of carious tables and the amount of bonuses it gains makes it unweildly. This also doesn't take into account that chimaerical creations seldom get bonuses on everything. side note - with this race not appearing similar the chances of this race actually being able to survive and have offspring is very low.

Aiel'Vasai[edit]

Origin[edit]

Aiel'Vasai were created thanks to the pursuits of a particularly insane wizard soon after mankind began to dominate the globe. They are a result of tests that concluded that human blood was capable of being mixed effectively with the blood of almost any other sentient being. Taking this knowledge in hand, the wizard set about gathering the samples of blood he would need, hunting down elves, Aasimars, Tieflings, and even young dragons to collect their blood. Once he decided he had enough, he captured dozens of young humans and infused them each with a different mixture of the samples, then, aided by his magic, he caused the blood to integrate into their bodies. Most died in the process, but when it was over, the first 20 Aiel'Vasai had been created. We know this only thanks to being informed of it by one of those original 20, as they raged on their creation and killed the wizard and leveled his tower around him. The Aiel'Vasai received their name sometime later when the goddess Mystra named them as such to her Chosen, telling them it meant "Those who have been Distorted", and commanding them to seek out the Aiel'Vasai and protect them from being used in another god's plot.

Personality[edit]

Aiel'Vasai have personalities as unique as any human's, but they do share several common traits: They go to great lengths to maintain calmness, even to the point of removing themselves from a conversation entirely, they will normally make a considerable effort to cover any unusual physical characteristics, and they tend to enjoy literature. Due to their ability to blend into many settlements, they can live completely normal lives, so long as they keep their temper in check. If they fail to do so, however, their chances of remaining in any one place long drop considerably. When their anger overcomes them, Aiel'Vasai blindly lash out at anything that moves or generates magic, and will often shred their clothing in the process, revealing their inhumanity. Even after becoming a fugitive for some crime committed while enraged, however, they will seek out people, as they feel starved and depressed without others to converse with.

Physical Description[edit]

Aiel'Vasai resemble humans, or even elves, rather closely, but for one they tend to be tall (6'4"-7'8") and their ears are usually even longer and more distinctly pointed than an elves. Their eyes are commonly green or blue, though they can be any color, and their hair is typically white or has a bleached out look to it, with fair skin to match. The most noticeable of all, however, is their three traits. Due to the various bloodlines flowing through an Aiel'Vasai's blood, they carry three traits from their most powerful ancestor's. They carry a celestial, demonic, and draconic trait that can manifest as anything from hoofed feet to slitted pupils to scales just under the skin, to even feathered wings. In any case, while one trait alone would be simple to hide, the three together are very difficult to hide indeed. As a result, Aiel'Vasai typically wear long coats, with a cloak over that besides, even in heat to hide their traits. Some, however, are less interested in keeping themselves hidden.

Relations[edit]

Aiel'Vasai are typically considered some kind of humanoid chimera, or some other strange creature, not in the least helped by the fits of rage that can overtake them if they are not careful. For the most part, when an Aiel'Vasai is revealed, they are quickly removed from the company of others. Most often by running very fast.

Alignment[edit]

Any, though they have a predisposition towards being lawful to avoid drawing attention to themselves, regardless of whether they are good, evil or neutral.

Lands[edit]

Aiel'Vasai are capable of living almost anywhere, but tend to prefer colder temperatures, though like most humanoids they have no love for freezing temperatures. Their tendency towards bundling up to cover their traits makes hot climates very uncomfortable for them.

Names[edit]

Any. Aiel'Vasai are named at birth like humans, and due to their love of books are normally well versed in many names. It is fairly common for them to use a false name rather than their given name.
