[edit] Note:

As of now, this is a simultanious article that goes with the Nekomimi race. As the Nekomimi go further and advance, so will this. For now, it will most likely seem as an enforced rule. This is not true; this is supposed to be only a Modular rule, which can be added and removed as you please. Since more rules for height and weight are purely for RP, this is not supposed to be much of anything, besides a guideline as well as a simple roller for heights if you are pressed for time. The minimum, maximum, and average heights are not only there for convienience of the possible numbers, it is also something for people to use if they wish to choose their own height, yet not make it seem too ridiculous. I hope you enjoy these rules, and I'm hoping they can get used once in a while, even though they are something which some may consider as too "GURPSy."

[edit] Height/Weight Rules:

Warning, might need Syntax editing
  • At each age category, the character rolls their height die, the resulting amount being their final (and total) height until they reach the next age Category.
  • If the height finally rolled is, to any previous age category, lower, simply take the higher age category and either add one inch to it, or roll a 1d% and a 1d6 (or 1d8). Multiply the percentage by the resulting d6 die roll to get the new modifier. You add this to the previous height. (Second-half of this idea is too... weird/basic; Might need fixing later on.)
  • If you wish to make the second-half of the previous rule more erratic, simply make the results of the percentage from -50-+50% by subtracting 50% from the roll. (Remember, percentages are simply decimals in a guise of full numbers; IE: 75% is 0.75, 150% is 1.50, and 100 is 1.0.) Apply the resulting number as usual.
  • The creatures' height and weight aren't simply changed, though you may do so. The time at which a character's at that height is when they either reach the next stage, or you roll a 1d% and multiply that to the difference in time between categories (in months) to the roll (they grow up to that stage in increments). That month is when the character attains full height for that age category. The adulthood category-height can be reached using the difference between the last category (Puberty), and multiplying that by the percentage of a 1d%. The time that would be shown (in Months) is the time where the person comes to that height. <)(This is worded Badly, Please wait until this is edited.)
  • The differences in height between each category is then divided by the amount of months it takes to get to the next age category. This number (Called the Monthly Height Modifier) is added to the current height until they finally reach their new height. When the new height is reached, the process starts again with the new difference in time and the new height. Weight gain is also calculated in the same way, adding with the height and acting in the same way as height does.

Monthly Increments:

  • Each amount of time that equals a month is either each division of the campaign's year (Usually by 12), or every 28 days. Also, if the campaign has a time-system that has each month, the date of the last day of the month can be used as a time increment, even if the increments are variable. The month that the character was born (or the year, if you're so inclined) is the increment at which they grow.

Creating Characters after birth (For Dummies): You may also simply roll the height-weight at the nearest age Category (round down) the character is currently in.

If you are so inclined, just work your way from Birth to your current age to find your height.

[edit] The Basics of Age (with some terminology)

Needs a bit of clean up

The stuff for ageing in D&D is a pretty cut and dry affair; you are adult, you grow older a little, and you die, or not. You'd also have to be an adult to be able to have a player in D&D. However, it doesn't really go too far, and which is acceptable, is just "Blah." However, what about gender differences, problems with age, and of course, children? Where are those?

[edit] Senescence

In essence, Ageing is Senescene, or cellular deterioration. All aging is really the weakening of the body by outside factors, as well as the overwhelming of the body in this weakened state. Death is simply the last slip up that a character's body ever takes.

[edit] Biological Immortality

This is the basic concept of that old idea that, "You're Immortal, but I can still stab you to death." In essence, This is the peak that a normal mortal can get, unless they become a god, and even then it's not exactly guaranteed. Most outsiders, celestials, and various other types of creatures have Biological Immortality, with few exceptions (Such as Liches, who still are technically biologically immortal).
