Ackbar's Voltage Arc (3.5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
|Casting time:||See Below|
|Range:||Long (400 ft. + 40 ft./lvl)|
|Targets:||any 2 points in space|
By concentrating on two points, you can build the potential energy between them until you release a surge of electricity.
Such a discharge deals 1d20 damage for every round spent concentrating. During the first round, the caster must take a standard action to select two points. The caster must pass a concentration check DC 12 + 1/round every round as a move action focused. It is okay if the targets move. If the check fails the voltage is lost and discharges harmlessly. Every four levels the damage dice increases (d4->d6->d8->d10->d12) to a max of d12 at lvl 16. Each damage dice increase also adds 2 to the initial concentration DC.
The surge will ignite anything flammable. If either target has any metal, both targets get 3 more points of damage. If either target comes in contact with water, the spell is grounded and has no effect.
Focus: Though the caster is concentrating on this spell, they can still take other actions, even cast other spells.
