[edit] Introduction
This is an Optimization I came up with one day, when I was coming up with a series of characters.... The Soulknife always struck me as an interesting class, so here it is now. If you spend a few rounds concentrating and getting all psoincally focused, you can do a lot of damage.

The main items you need are a belt of giant strength +4, and Armbands of Might from the Magic Item Compendium. The main power of those being, when you subtract at least -2 using Power attack, you gain an extra +2 on damage rolls. Also, +4 Adamidite Breastplate is very nice, especially with a dexterity modifier (+3) that's equal to the maximum, and I just got a +1 Heavy Shield, and a cloak of Resistance +1 in addition to that.
[edit] Progression
Starting Ability Scores (Before Racial Adjustments): Strength should be 18. I did the build with a strength of 18, Dexterity of 16, Constitution of 15, Intelligence of 15, wisdom of 7 and an original charisma of 13, but I used 5 dice instead of 4, so it's sort of high. But really, all that matters is the strength and the dexterity (to protect yourself with +3 to AC if you get magical breastplate)
Race (Templates): Elan, for no apparent reason then I've always liked the elans.
Starting Racial Traits:
- -2 Charisma
- 2 Power points*
- (Resistance, use 1 pp for +4 on saving throw), (Resilience +2 hp for every power point spent), (Repletion, use 1 pp for no need to eat or drink.)
- Abberation, but no darkvision.

You need a good Concentration skill modifier.

Alright, people, this is the main focus of this build. Turn the mindblade into a Bastard Sword, and use the enchantment on Psychokinetic Burst. This will add +1d4 to your damage. Next, get psionic focused. Imbue your mindblade with the energy to do the Psychic strike ability, which adds +2d8. If the AC of the target seems as if it is one you will hit (with your weapon focuses and strength, it should be +17) with an average roll (10), use power attack to subtract from your attack bonus. You should probably do at least negative two, so that you can get an extra two from the Armbands of might. For example, if the target's AC was 23, you might just subtract two, to add +4. When you strike, expend your psionic focus, which will do +2d6. Recap- 1d10+2d8+2d6+1d4+12. This is pretty good amount of damage, don't you think? This will do from 20 to 54 points of damage. And next rounds, you try and do it all over again!

There are many ways to modify this build for extra damage- One is using a race with a strength modifer. Some other simple ways are to put that other ability bonus into strength, or to add just a few levels- 11th level gives your psychic strike +3d8, and 12th level gives you a bonus feat which you can spend on Greater Psionic Weapon.... +4d6.
