;Geography

Water Tribe citizens primarily inhabit the northern and southernmost regions of the globe, near both poles. The people of the Water Tribe are generally peaceful, and strive to live in harmony with nature and the other nations of the world. There are two primary divisions of the Water Tribe, the Northern Tribe and the Southern Tribe. Although in the past there was significant exchange between the North and South, contact between the two tribes has been interrupted due to the chaos of the war. The Water Tribe is less powerful than both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation, due to its geographical location and the small size of its population and economy. The economy is dependent on the ocean.

;General

;Culture and Customs

In the Northern Water Tribe, women are of marrying age at the age of sixteen. Males who wish to marry females gift them with a traditional betrothal necklace. This signifies that the woman is to be married. The ceremony is completely organized by the parents, and marriage of free choice is not practiced. However, in the Southern Water Tribe, it seems that people are allowed to choose their own spouses.

When they turn fourteen, Southern Water Tribe children are taken on a rite of passage known as ice dodging, a sport where the children must control a ship in turbulent water riddled with large, haphazard chunks of ice. After completing the ritual, they are given marks of honor: the Mark of the Brave, the Mark of the Wise, and the Mark of the Trusted.

The names of the Southern and Northern Tribes' citizens often include one or two "K"s and have an "AH" sound (Katara, Hakoda, Sokka, Pakku, Kya, Kuruk, Kanna, Arnook, Korra, Tarrlok, Yakone, Noatak, Eska, Varrick etc.)

;National Emblem

The national emblem of the Water Tribe is a circle comprised of a waning crescent moon and three wavy horizontal lines representing ocean water. The emblem represents the relationship between Tui and La, the Moon and Ocean Spirits, who exist in perfect harmony with one another, like Yin and Yang.

;Climate

The Water Tribe's dominant season is winter. The Northern and Southern tribes regularly experience snowfall year-round. Other forms of precipitation are rare due to the below-freezing temperatures, and thus the air is usually lacking in humidity. The average yearly temperature in the Southern Water Tribe is negative 49 degrees.

;Geography

The Fire Nation is located on an archipelago of tropical volcanic islands, many still active, that gives the nation an unlimited source of power. Because of a warm and humid climate, the Fire Nation is home to a variety of native flora and fauna, though the main islands largely consist of rough, grassy plains bearing little wildlife.

;General

The Fire Nation is the second-largest nation in terms of area, following the Earth Kingdom, while its economy is the most powerful in the world; its strong industrial sector and extensive technological developments not only enabled the Fire Nation to create an extremely powerful military, but also initiated the worldwide modernization and globalization. There is minor degree of physical diversity among members of the Fire Nation. Its citizens tend to have black or brown hair, often styled in a bun or ponytail. Their eyes are usually golden, amber, or bronze in color, with brown and gray as rare alternatives. The people often have light skin tones, though many poorer citizens have darker complexions.

;Culture and Customs

The Fire Nation oath, titled "The March to Civilization", is a characteristic and important cultural element, demonstrated by its teaching to children in schools with demureness and recited thoughtfully. Children are taught that the Fire Nation is the greatest civilization that exists, that the war is its way of sharing its greatness, along with the ideology that the Fire Lord and his family are great people who are helping the world.
Fire Nation society places a great emphasis on respect and honor, especially toward the nobility and elders; the concept of the famed Agni Kai stems from these beliefs. Should one be honored enough to be in the presence of a member of the Royal Family, that person needs to prostrate themselves in respect or risk being challenged to an Agni Kai to avenge the disrespected Royal's honor. Upon coming into contact with an elder or superior, it is polite to bow down. Unlike in other parts of the world, this bow consists in placing a hand in a straight fashion with the other fist placed underneath it vertically. This represents the superior standing with one below him, bowing. Also when receiving an order in the Fire Nation by a superior it is common to not bow, but make the hand symbol. Bowing is required upon greeting to one, when something nice has happened, after business, and leaving.

;National Emblem

The national emblem of the Fire Nation is a stylized, teardrop-shaped flame forked into a trident of three tongues that taper upward to a point.

;Climate

The Fire Nation's dominant season is summer. The climate in the Fire Nation varies, though most regions have a tropical or arid subtropical climate, and many areas experience high average temperatures year-round.

;Geography

The geography of the Earth Kingdom varies tremendously due to its immense size. The northwestern areas are mountainous and covered in dense coniferous forests, while the western coast harbors a warmer climate and many deciduous forests. The inland west is also home to several swamps and the arid Great Divide, while the center of the Kingdom is comprised of the enormous Si Wong Desert. The southwestern coast is covered with lush forests while areas to the southwest are arid mountain ranges with sparse grasslands. The southern coast is a lush area filled with rivers and forested areas. North, over the mountains, the land turns to sparsely populated plains which once again meld into the Si Wong Desert.

;General

The Earth Kingdom spans an entire continent as well as several subsidiary islands, it is the largest and most populated sovereignty in the world and encompasses much of the eastern hemisphere. The kingdom is ruled by a monarchy which operates under the rule of a king or queen. The people of the Earth Kingdom are proud and strong and adhere to a philosophy of peaceful coexistence and cooperation with the other nations of the world. Earth-benders use their abilities for defense and industry and fiercely defended their cities. It also has a large economy based on agriculture and limited industry, though it is not as economically powerful as the Fire Nation, which benefits from advanced technology. The Earth Kingdom is characterized by significant ethnic and cultural diversity, a consequence of the country's vast territorial expanse. As a result, it suffers from high levels of local autonomy and ethnic conflict.

;Culture and Customs

;National Emblem

The national emblem of the Earth Kingdom is a square inscribed with a circle, at the center of which is a much smaller square, like with a Chinese coin. Its many layers symbolize the "depth" of the Earth Kingdom, both literally and figuratively; the insignia represents the "immeasurable layers of deep rock and minerals which Earth-benders manipulate to maintain their great cities", as well as the depth of the inhabitants' commitment toward a peaceful and productive way of life.

;Climate

The Earth Kingdom's dominant season is spring. The average temperatures across different portions of the Earth Kingdom vary greatly because of its vast size. Some areas, such as the Foggy Swamp, are humid and rainy while other areas, such as the Si Wong Desert and Great Divide, are quite arid. Omashu and Ba Sing Se are more temperate. The coldest region of the Earth Kingdom is in and around Kyoshi Island, where the climate conditions are often subpolar.
Hi Geodude I want to make a variation on your saiyan fighter Class for 5e
I will be making it really balanced, for example lvl 5 when I give great ape it takes a whole turn to do and it costs 1 ki to fire a moon ball. They make a constitution saving throw of dc10 if they fail they lose 1 extra ki.If the transformation is successful when the transformation ends they lose 3 ki.
*+1 on Attack and Damage rolls.
*Your unarmed strikes deal 2d8 bludgeoning damage + strength modifier and has a reach of 10 feet.
*Your energy beam is fired from the mouth dealing 3d12 + wisdom modifier, uses 3 ki and has a range of 90 feet.
*Your ki blast does 2d8 damage+ wisdom modifier with a blast radius of 15 feet, its range it can be thrown is 90ft, it uses 2 ki.
*Your size increases to Gargantuan.
*You have an AC of 11 + Constitution modifier and gain 10 temporary hit points.
*All of your speeds increase by 10.
*You are resistant to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage from all non magic weapons.
*You have an advantage on Strength and Constitution checks, saving throws. You also gain an advantage to Intimidation checks.
*You have disadvantage on Wisdom and Intelligence checks and saving throws.
*If you run out of ki you fall unconscious.
*Can only be used once per day. It requires a long rest to do again.
The form ends automatically if you reach zero hit points, or if you are knocked or fall unconscious.

You class is well made and balanced I just want to improve upon it as I want to make super saiyan great apes instead of ultra instinct. I going with the idea that the saiyan landed on the planet to wipe it out when they were a child.however when they started rampaging they were humbled by one of the most powerful creatures in the game a full grown dragon. so they put the idea of extinction to rest, then one day they heard on their pod that their planet Vegeta was destroyed. They then decided to not genocide the planet. Instead they would breed with the humans to rebuild the race.

:Not my class; I have no idea about anything having to do with that class. Try asking User:Blobby383b as last I saw he was the one that was working on it. . . 21:45, 24 May 2018 (MDT)
Premature and speedy deletion
Yowza, Geodude. I was drawn, as I am often am with speedy deletions, to the history of the Tuna and sweetcorn page. It's been brought up before that we should, at the very least, wait a few hours for the editing to stop, before placing any IRR templates on an article. Yet in this case, with an article that seems to me like was a potentially ideal (and, given time, could've been a viable and possibly even funny) candidate for Template:April Fools, you've speedy deleted it, under the snowball clause, a total of eight minutes since its last edit. I have no issue with taking a strong arm to articles, but I feel that, not only is placing improvement template on an article that is being actively edited pretty jarring to the editor, and placing a deletion template on an article being actively edited is pretty upsetting, but literally speedy deleting it without any real reason such as policy violation, mid-edit. I mean, I get it, the page was bad, but were I that editor, that would just make me quit a site, on the spot. Unless I'm somehow massively misconstruing the situation, could we please chill on the immediate, jarring, and almost kind of insulting, interruptions of new editors trying to get to grips with things? --SgtLion (talk) 03:21, 11 February 2018 (MST)
:While I do frankly think the page was spam, it still shouldn't have been deleted as the author may have been in the process of changing/completing the page. Another issue I just recently noticed was in your selective use of the snowball clause on the wiki. "If an issue does not have a snowball's chance in hell of being accepted by a certain process, there's no need to run it through the entire process." is what Wikipedia has on the snowball clause. If this clause where to be enforced, someone can raise concerns about a page and add the delete template to it and if the reasons for adding the delete template were agreed upon the page, the page can be immediately deleted according to the clause. Since, this clause seems to go against the spirt of collaborative work on D&D wiki, might I suggest that the clause not be used again in favor of other alternatives?--Blobby383b (talk) 06:04, 11 February 2018 (MST)
so common courtesy is no longer a thing and variant pages for overpowered versions are no longer a thing?
Hello Geodude671,
I am Drakonsblade. I find it interesting and rather rude that you find it appropriate to change things about someone else's work without even saying a thing to them first, or giving any kind of constructive criticism to help them develop as creators or writers at all, to my other point I was lead to believe that overpowered variants were allowed when I originally came here to make my race and even in the help precedent page it says and I quote
"This is the "D&D Wiki". Not the "elitist D&D game design hobbyists wiki". We expect quality workmanship and civil discourse, not theoretical system mastery and snobery. We should work together to improve each others work, not only for the good of the wiki as a whole, but for the good of ourselves and each other as fellow hobbyists and wikians. D&D is an extremely flexible game, and that's a good thing. Above all, promote fun through kindness. Unless someone is actually acting in bad faith, there's no need to get all serious and bent out of shape.

This wiki is our collective table. These people you are interacting with are your allies- maybe even distant friends. Treat them like it." and yet you feel the need to enforce YOUR vision upon someone else's hard work time and effort. That disturbs me because it greatly differentiates from what that page says.--Drakonsblade (talk) 10:35, 16 February 2018 (MST)
:I judged Drakoniant (5e Race) to be too powerful, and I attempted to de-power the race to a point comparable to the first-party races while still keeping the spirit of the page. They still have a faster land speed than most other humanoid races, they still have a natural weapon, and they still fly.
:I sincerely apologize if I seemed "elitist" when I made this edit. However, I did judge the page's use of Design Disclaimer to be inappropriate. As you have stated in the design disclaimer itself, "this race is not balanced by 5e" and per Help:Improving, Reviewing, and Removing Templates "This template is not justification for broken...design, nor is this template intended to identify pages as being...broken." Thus, needsbalance or de-powering of the page is appropriate. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 11:09, 16 February 2018 (MST)
::I will never lie on this part in particular "this race is not balanced by 5e standards" that is entirely and wholeheartedly true and that's because it is made and balanced via compromise with logical thought and reasoning and some 5e standards. By logical reasoning, my race, as well as any race that at minimum stands at 7ft tall, should logically be as fast as a wood elf since the length of the gait is actually much larger than most elves, humans, and tieflings, etc. this doesn't even touch on the fact that my race is digitigrade and I don't honestly feel like launching into a whole different speal about the differences in speed between the two types of legs that I already went into in my disclaimer but I digress. While a wood elf is fast due to their inherent magic. As to the flying, their flying works just like a dragon's does they build up the physical and magical strength required to lift themselves into the air with their wings, their flight speed was set at level 5 because that allows for them to build up the physical strength as well as the magical strength required to lift such heavy being into the air. This entire thing up to now hasn't even touched on the fact that you deleted the "base" page which I tried to upload under an OP variant page without so much as a word in the discussion page you literally looked it over, saw it was my base race and pressed delete, there wasn't even a deletion tag assigned to it before you deleted it. YOU made no effort what so ever to try and talk about it with me, and while it 'may' be within your rights as an admin to do so it is also the actions like this that make you out to be an "elitist".--Drakonsblade (talk) 11:48, 16 February 2018 (MST)
:::::The page that had a deletion template for nearly a month is the old, deleted version of Drakoniant (5e Race).
:::::Yes, the point of homebrew is to alter or add on to the standard game. In general, though, the new content being added in should "fit in" with first-party content already in the game, because you're creating content for an existing game rather than making a game of your own. Here on the wiki we have a general consensus that we should be enforcing balance, because this makes content fun for everybody at the table rather than just the one person playing it, and it lets people browse the site with an understanding that content is likely to be suitable for their use. We have standards on this wiki that content must adhere to (even if it sometimes takes a while for those standards to be enforced). If you want to keep your race in its unbalanced state, you can move it into your userspace, where other users are not allowed to edit, except for administrators to remove content that breaks sitewide rules (per Help:Behavioral Policy#User Pages). == Humanoid and "x" types ==

There's been a lot of lobbying for FA votes so I thought I would finally try to partake and noticed Earth Giant getting a lot of attention; figured lets check it out. Giantkin trait is pretty awesome I think and it is just like the Chimera's Monstrosity thing. Would it be better to flavor these like Fey Ancestry of the elf? It would coincide with first party content that has only humanoids as well. Just something I found curious and thought it could be food for thought. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 14:13, 16 February 2018 (MST)
:Hey, for some reason I didn't see this before. That's an idea, I suppose, and I would like to see what you come up with. The traits that give "humanoid and x type" are mainly there for flavor and to make sure that a race is affected by an effect that they reasonably should be affected by (for example, a succubus character should be affected by things that specifically target fiends) while not making the race immune to a bevy of spells that target humanoids specifically (for example, ). — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 17:02, 4 March 2018 (MST)
::In regards to Earth Giant specifically, I'd recommend designing around high hit points, strength, athletics and perception. The race design is already done but these four elements exist in the monster manual giants except for athletics on hill giants.
::The succubus idea, I'd rather give "Succubi Charm" per long rest, may cast charm person as the spell. Both ideas draw on the races lore or heritage vs giving them the creature type.
::These are just my thoughts on race design and trying to keep things closer to 5e first party content. == The Many Adventures of Balancing ==

Hey, I came to discuss my race, the Daemonii. I have heard the criticisms you’ve posted on the discussion page and have heard them since day one. The reason I left it alone is that honestly, I was surprised to see that it got nominated and was thinking to myself, “Really? Wow.” When I created it, it was mostly just a means to experiment rather than something I was trying to make avant-garde, which probably is why the lore is not very interesting and why it seems to be so powerful. However, the transformation trait wasn’t a part of the original idea. Someone else randomly made the race even more overpowered than what it currently is! They gave it the transformation trait, made the score increase 2 instead of 1, gave it a resistance to necrotic damage, made it able to be Large or Medium, and made the claws do 2d6 slashing instead of 1d4! I brought most of it back to the original idea but kept the demon form for some reason (I don’t remember why). Having seen the critiques posted in the discussion section, I’ve removed the demon form trait, but that is all. I wanted to discuss with you how else to fix up the race, before doing anything else; alternatives for traits, ways to balance them, and more interesting lore, that sort of thing. —Dinomaster337 (talk) 20 March 2018 (MST)
Neo Tarrasque
I'm curious why you reverted my changes to Neo Tarrasque (5e Creature), changing the wording of several abilities and adding the Unkillable trait. I don't see what the problem, if any, there is with them. That said, there might be something about them that violates wiki rules or something that I didn't know about. Thank you for answering this. 2603:3015:27a4:0:48f6:e3a8:aa1:d8cf
:I reverted your edits because they didn't just change the way several abilities were worded, but because they also changed the way those abilities worked in a way that I did not believe was beneficial. The "unkillable" trait does make sense for the tarrasque to have, but I believed it increased the strength of the creature in a way that would feel frustrating to players and basically reduces the encounter to "have this spell or lose," as opposed to other additions to the vanilla such as Earthbind Aura and the AoE attacks which are intended to make a fight against the tarrasque to be more fun and tactically interesting. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 22:56, 26 March 2018 (MDT)

Okay. Thank you. Your choice to revert the changes makes a lot more sense now. That said, I still believe that that Tail Sweep and Shockwave should be worded as (Recharge 4-6) instead of (Recharge 4). See the SRD: Red Dragon Wyrmling (5e Creature) for an example. Dragon breath has (Recharge 5-6) instead of (Recharge 5). == Hexblade subclass ==

First of all good job on this, im actually playing a character who tried to be this with multiclassing and i think that just using this subclass wouldve been alot easier. In regards to absorb elements, i put it there because the homebrew spell elemental armor was already there and that just seems like a direct upgrade from both absorb elements and armor of agathys which doesnt seem balanced. I also put eldritch blast because it's the standard lock cantrip and seeing as how you can take an invocation with this class it seemed weird that you couldnt take the cantrip that has quite a few invocations tied to it. additionally firesweep seems really similar to green flame blade so you may want to consider adding that Kinv

Hello! First of all I would like to thank you for helping me get my race together! My information and traits were getting jumbled between what I wanted versus what would be a good balance. I do have a few questions though, (1) Why did you remove the proficiency in arcane trait I gave? (2) Should I also give them a detect magic at will ability? (3) Was the Draconic roar I gave the race to strong or just unfitting?
:The Arcana proficiency was replaced with the Eladrin Magic, taking inspiration from the trait given to the Eladrin subrace in Unearthed Arcana. I felt that giving them spellcasting would better reflect their affinity for magic, as the Arcana skill mainly represents knowledge about magic rather than any magical ability a character might have. SunRise18
:Both the at-will Detect Magic and the Draconic Roar traits would probably be more appropriate as racial feats than as racial traits, mimicking the Drow High Magic and Dragon Fear feats in XGtE. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 13:41, 15 April 2018 (MDT)
Or am I misunderstanding something here? --SgtLion (talk) 13:32, 20 April 2018 (MDT)
Your Manakete Race!
I have been slaving away on my first ever homebrew Race and Class Designed around the Manaketes from Fire Emblem as a whole. I was wondering if there were any pointers you could give me and if there is gonna be any problem if my Race Variant has any overlap (such as when designing my race I gave them "Long Life" in my design notes to give Manaketes a proficiency in history, which now that I looked at yours I see you have the same thing on yours but named "Long-Lived"). The Race I am designing could be used with any class, but is mostly being designed to be used with the Manakete Class I am working on as well. The Class however is not to be used with any other race tho. Anyway you seem pretty good at all this and wanted your opinion or help anywhere you could, or at least to know if you would get mad if you saw my variant race and it has a few similarities. Thanks for your time my dude!--SurvivorSid (talk) 14:36, 9 May 2018 (MDT)
:Go ahead and make your version of the race. Obviously since we're drawing from the same source material there are bound to be a few similarities. — Geodude671 (talk | contribs | email) . . 14:43, 9 May 2018 (MDT)
Apology
Hey Geodude671, I just saw your edit on my page Airbender (5e Class), after I took off what content had been provided by someone other than me. I am sorry, I reacted too strongly to the edits and I should have left them up until being given the chance to discuss them. Thank you for keeping me in check, and I will adhere to a more honorable system in the future.

Is there a way to remove that page as a candidate for deletion? The original reason I deleted the edits is that I have been working on a system for those classes that is completely different from what the other user submitted, and I would like a chance to provide my own homebrew ideas for the page, fitting in with the modified mechanics that I have created for the universe. Or should I allow it to be deleted and start fresh? Thank you.
Hello! My name is Sparrowhawk701, and I have been playing D&D on and off for several years. My dad tried to introduce us to 1st and 2nd edition, but now I'm hooked on 5e! When looking at the benders and how to emulate their abilities, it occurred to me that it might be an option to have all of the bending classes be archetypes of the Monk class instead. Warriors are warriors no matter when or where they are, and the fighters of the world of Avatar are the same way. Masters of armor and weaponry, their home is the battlefield. For the world of Avatar, upbringing and country of origin will have an impact on which weapons and armor each different fighter will choose to wield and wear, as well as which weapons and armor they have the proficiency to wear. I have linked the normal fighter class above for your convenience.

The world of Avatar: The Last Airbender is populated by a variety of elementally-attuned people in addition to normal human beings. These "benders" have the ability to manipulate a single element with the power of their will. These people will often devote their lives to mastering the art of bending their specific element. Some benders, having studied their craft for so long, or due to an innate ability, gain more advanced forms of bending related to their native element.

There are four kinds of benders, for the four elements of Fire, Air, Water, and Earth. Benders of a specific element will stereotypically use certain styles and techniques based on their elements, but differing personalities and styles will result in different techniques. Techniques are also limited by the availability of the bending element.

There is one being who has the ability to bend all four of the elements. This individual, called the "Avatar," is the persona responsible for keeping the world in balance, and once one Avatar dies, his or her spirit is reincarnated into a new body. This reincarnation follows a cycle between the four nations: Fire Nation, Air Nomads, Water Tribe, and the Earth Kingdom, in that order. With spiritual training, the Avatar can access a supernatural mental state called the "Avatar state," in which the Avatar spiritually connects to all of their past lives, drawing on the power, knowledge, and experience of the past Avatars. The caveat is this: if an Avatar is killed while in the Avatar state, the cycle of rebirth is broken, and the spirit and power of the Avatar disappears forever.

Setting-Specific Information
For this setting, I have created five different bending-capable classes, one for each of the bending arts and one for the opportunity to create an Avatar character. Due to the nature of the setting, backgrounds and racial variants are not as free-flowing as other classes, as the racial variant will have a huge impact on a bender's abilities. As such, one cannot multi-class into a different bending class, and one cannot multi-class into the Avatar class. There is a possibility, based on the period in history, that a non-bending class could take levels in a bending class of a certain element. For example, if the fighter discovers an affinity to earth later on in training and begins to learn to wield that power.

Benders most often use their elements as a supplement to and extension of their martial abilities. Thus, I thought it more practical to make bending abilities operate on a stamina system, instead of a magic system. Bending abilities, or techniques, will cost a bending character a certain number of stamina points depending on the ability's complexity and power level. This cost will be drawn from a stamina reservoir, which increases as the character gains levels, shown on the table.

A bender will regain all spent stamina points after a long rest.

Learning techniques
For each bending class, there is a starting bending technique that is known by at level 1. This is the same for each bending character. At each level after level 1, you may learn one technique related to your element, and you retain that technique. These techniques increase in power as you increase in level. Each technique has a stamina cost associated with it, depending on the complexity and power of the technique. There are three tiers of techniques: Basic, Adept, and Master-level. Level 8 is required to begin to learn Adept-level techniques for the four bending classes, and level 17 is required to learn Master-level techniques.

Techniques that are attacks will use either Strength or Dexterity for the attack rolls and damage modifiers, depending on the nature of the attack.

As part of the fun of bending is the myriad imaginative and unconventional ways to use the elements, do not limit your techniques by the examples for each element that I place below. Those are simply to get you started and give inspiration for your own techniques. Work with your DM to decide the practicality of a technique idea, as well as its execution and stamina cost.

Hello! My name is Sparrowhawk701, and I have been playing D&D on and off for several years. My dad tried to introduce us to 1st and 2nd edition, but now I'm hooked on 5e!
The World of Avatar: The Last Airbender
"My grandmother used to tell me stories about the old days, a time of peace, when the Avatar kept balance between Water Tribes, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Air Nomads. That all changed when the Fire Nation attacked." ~Katara, the last of the Southern Water Tribe waterbenders
The world of Avatar is a land saturated with the mystical. From when the world began and the Dragon Turtles kept order and provided for the earliest inhabitants, to the formation of the Avatar and the bestowing of the bending arts on the people of the world, it is clear that the spiritual and material are closely entwined.

Based on the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra, this campaign setting (created for 5e) is meant to provide the opportunity near and dear to my own heart: become a bender.

All of the characters in the Avatar: The Last Airbender setting are human, but their country of origin has a major influence on their abilities, especially if they have the ability to bend one of the elements. The four "races," then, in the campaign setting here would be the societal differences between the four nations: Air Nomads, Earth Kingdom, Fire Nation, and Water Tribe. In other settings or with mixes, I recommend trying out different homebrew races or the classic 5e races. Have fun with it!

A historical note on racial variants: at the time of Avatar Korra, the four nations had become more unified, especially in Republic City. Families blended between nations, and bending was most often based on parentage. For example, the daughter of an Earth Kingdom/Fire Nation union could have the abilities of a firebender, an earthbender, or a nonbender!

Also, following the Harmonic Convergence, many former nonbenders from all four nations suddenly gained the ability to airbend.

There are many ways to go with the racial variants, but here are my suggestions.

General Human Traits
Player's Handbook pg. 31

Age. Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.

Alignment. Like the typical 5e human, alignment varies greatly depending on background, personality, and motivation. Every human in this setting is capable of great good and great evil.

Size. The average human stands at 5 to 6 feet tall, weight varying greatly. Size is Medium.

Speed. Base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common. In the Avatar setting, Common is the only language spoken.

Societal traits
Air Nomads
Ability Score Increase. Your increases by 2.

Alignment. Air nomads tend toward the True Neutral, based on their spiritual bent. Due to their value of freedom, they may also tend toward Chaos.

Evasive. Proficiency in the Acrobatics skill.

Earth Kingdom
Ability Score Increase. Your and increase by 1.

Alignment. Earth Kingdom citizens are as varied as it comes.

Stubborn. Proficiency in the Persuasion skill.

Fire Nation
Ability Score Increase. Your and increase by 1.

Alignment. Fire nation citizens tend toward Law.

Determined. Proficiency in the Intimidation skill.

Water Tribe
Ability Score Increase. Your and increase by 1.

Alignment. Water Tribe citizens are as changeable as their element, but often tend towards the Neutral, acting the mediator between Law and Chaos.

Empathetic. Proficiency in the Insight skill.
:No problem! I've been clearing out double and broken redirects for nearly a decade now. It's the world's saddest hobby lol.
Hello Hooper. There's no need to add broken redirects to the proposed deletions. I check (or am supposed to check) Special:BrokenRedirects routinely, they can be deleted immediately without the 2-week wait.
